Yeah, he's bad but was he ever good? You want disappointingly bad...look at Toews. He looked rustier than a 50 year old barn nail tonight. Late passes, bad puck posession and just not quite where he needed to be.

Absolutely he was good when he came over at the deadline. He put together a string of games where he was the best d-man on the ice next to Seabrook.

Toews... rusty. Missing 20 games will do that. Denis Potvin said the exact same thing about Crosby ... he's out of shape. He gets out to a hot start in these games and then by the 2nd and 3rd, he just doesn't have the legs. Missing extended time will definitely do that.

Tough game to lose. Have to grab game 4 now or it's over. Both teams played pretty hard in this game. Can't fault the effort, they got fatigued.

You can't lose the game after an opposing player gets away with a hit like Torres did. You just can't. You have to use that as motivation and destroy your opponent. Hawks can't do that for whatever reason. I'm probably wrong, but it shows a lack of heart IMO.

They should have finished it in regulation.

Letting it get to OT leaves it much too open. Anything can happen (and did).

Brutal, brutal, brutal, brutal goal for Crawford to give up.

Especially because of how well he's played in the first three games. He wasn't quite back to the level he was during the 2011 postseason, but he was a helluva lot better tonight than the was during the regular season. I sincerely hope he can put that behind him and keep up his strong play. Emery is not going to be the answer.

**** RAFFI TORRES. **** him for his entire fucking career. I can't think of the last time I've hated one player so much. Ran Seabrook last year and, somehow, topped that disgusting play with an even worse hit on Hossa.

The fact that this guy even gets a paycheck anymore is a joke. He doesn't belong in the NHL.

Aside from the health concerns, because that looked absolutely terrifying, the worst thing about the play is that a total worthless fucking piece of shit hockey player may have ended the postseason for one of the best players in the world.

Completely agree. Well said.

And I think the biggest reason you never saw any retaliation during the game was the fact that it was never more than a one-goal difference. It's easy for the Pens/Flyers to beat the **** out of each other in the third period when one team is up by four goals. But it's not as good of an idea to take a retaliation penalty when you're team is tied/only up by one.

Was at the game last night...unfortunate way to end and most people have covered the important stuff.

One thing that amazed me last night, and that I loved, was that the jumbotron was showing replays of every call that the refs missed. I have never seen the UC do that, but they continually showed the missed calls sending a nice message (which apparently wasn't received) to the refs.

how about the game by frolik? where the hell is that play when the competition isn't even half as tough? the guy was a gamebreaker last night on both halves of the ice... what the hell.

read a quote where he said he played like it was his last game. I don't know how to take that.

How did I forget about Frolik!

Look, the guy usually can't finish...but he really does bring a lot of energy out there and usually has the puck on his stick a lot. He made some nice passes and is solid defensively...with his point totals his contact sucks, but I do wish he would play more in a 3rd line role because he is perfect there.

Frolik's lack of playing time served him well last night. I posted right before Crawford went into his "soft" mode that I thought Frolik was the only Hawk that had anything left
in the tank. Even Stalberg who usually has a great motor was sucking wind in the OT period. I guess you can't say definitively that Torres hit caused the loss but the fact that it forced the Hawks to play a forward short for a lot of that game sure contibuted to it.
