On the bright side, Boozer finally came to play. I think if we had gone to him a little more in the 4th while he was still going we could've made this more of a game. But alas...all we can hope is that he continues to play well in game 5.

You're a mod?, consider all of my thanks hereby removed...j/k. Your prior posting is a confirmation of the same recurring issues resulting in every playoff loss. Has to be driving the coaching staff nuts, same problems against a different opponent.

Having still almost won tells me we have more horses...Bulls in 6.

i agree with you. this was the best the hawks team is capable of playing, and it was at home. Chicago will look back at it rose will man up and admit to the team that he took to many shots, regroup and win next 2. I just dont see the hawks stretching a game 7, and in some possibility they do the bulls wouldn't lose it.

As soon as I saw the multiple calls & techs being handed out in the game. I knew this was going to be starring the refs. So I turned it off. Whether they won or not. I just hate how the refs can gets a little attention crazy.

Blow you whistle fairly & shut the **** up! It is that simple. If were good enough to play you would be in a jersey. Instead your fat, donut eatin ass can't make a layup, so you have been banished to the land of whistles & failure. Now man up & ref the fucking game loser!

I'm not ignorant to the fact that the refs sucked tonight but lets be real, the Bulls wouldn't have been able to hit water tonight if they fell out of a boat. They couldn't shoot, they weren't playing good consistent defense (especially in the 4th quarter) and they gave Atlanta every chance they could to win the basketball game. If the officiating was perfect tonight, I'm sorry...I think the Bulls still lose.

their defense lost the game. those quick open shots that were dunked by atlanta were game changers.

because the bulls out competed the absolute best play the hawks could eek out. They surely wont see that kind of play away from the home court. D rose in his interview blamed the game on himself so he wont have a bad game next time.

Oops. Ref Salvadore says after game he made mistake and inadvertent whistle call at 2:27 with Bulls down 6 should have been 3 shots for Rose

To be fair, the whistle should never have been blown in the first place. It wasn't a foul.

That's silly. We were out of this game when the game plan went away from Booz...the inside-out game was working w/ booz (and Noah to an extent) even with nobody in the backcourt hitting anything outside of Rose. Yeah, the turnover hurt, but we were out of this game when the 4th qr started.

if Bogans fails to score at least 6 points we often lose the game. LoL.

seriously giving up 100 pts spelled doom for the Bulls. But I'm not worried this will never happen again in Game 5. They just need to clean up all their mistakes and play with more energy and edge next game.

To me the big worry is how single minded the offense is this series. There's one guy in the history of the game with whom you can win a championship while being that predictable, and he doesn't play SG for the Bulls anymore.

The Bulls need to get back to being a little more balanced. Obviously Rose is going to still be the first option, but he shouldn't be the second, third and forth option as well.

but to be completly honest this is the reason we lost down 6 & rose gets fouled on the 3-point line but cheating ass B. Salvatore said it was a mistake & instead of giving the bulls the ball out he does a jump ball WTF

ATLANTA -- NBA official Bennett Salvatore admitted he made a mistake in ruling an inadvertent whistle rather than a foul on a three-point shot attempt by the Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose late in Sunday night's Game 4 against Atlanta Hawks.

The play in question occurred with 2:27 left in the fourth quarter with the Hawks leading 90-84. Rose pulled up for a three-pointer and appeared to be fouled by Hawks guard Jamal Crawford. Salvatore blew his whistle, but said it was inadvertent and ruled a jump ball would take place at center court. The Hawks won the resulting tip and came down then floor and added to their lead.

"An inadvertent whistle is when a referee blows his whistle and didn't mean to. That's exactly what happened," Salvatore told a pool reporter. "I blew my whistle and didn't mean to, I didn't think it was a foul. Having watched the replay after the game, it was a foul and I should have called it. I made a mistake."

The Bulls bench erupted after the non-call and was still a little perturbed by it after the game.

"I got to look at the play again. I thought it was a foul," Bulls forward Luol Deng said. "It is what it is."

Said Rose: "It's basketball. Hopefully next time they call it."

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was upset by the decision, but understood that officials make mistakes.

"At that time of the game, I've never seen that," Thibodeau said. "But look, Benett's a good official. He said he made a mistake. He's human. So that's what he did. He's a good official. He got him in the air, he came down on him. I thought it was a foul. But you know, sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't."

Salvatore was upset that he made the error, especially at such a critical juncture in the game.

"I blew my whistle. I was positive it was not a foul," Salvatore said. "I blew my whistle by accident. Which is an inadvertent whistle. That's why I disallowed it ... Having watched replay. It was a foul. I made a mistake. I was wrong."

Nick Friedell covers the Bulls for ESPNChicago.com and ESPN 1000.

BULLSHIT if we get this foul rose hits all three & were back in the game with a lil over 2 minutes left IM PISSED WE SHOULD BE 3-1 coming home NOT FUCKING TIED ATL WAS HANDED THAT FUCKING GAME!!!!!!!!!!!

He's right. Sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't, but that's not the attitude he should have. No, he couldn't have done anything, however, that seems a lot like a bunch of B.S. pandering to the official. Mistakes costs too much in these games; they should have at least reviewed the play right then and there. It's no excuse simply because 'he's human'.

Salvatore was upset that he made the error, especially at such a critical juncture in the game.

Upset? I doubt it.
