It's a different game defensively when Asik is in there. Not many guys can come in to replace a second team all-D player because you need more defense.
I just hope Thibs keeps playing him through the playoffs.

This Jeff Teague fellow is pretty good. It's a damn shame he's not backing up D-Rose. Teague was drafted 19th overall in the '09 draft. We had the 16th pick that year and took....James Johnson. facepalm

Taj is really doing well this playoffs. Give him more PT specially on the final stretches of the game. His defense and activity is priceless.

You have to consider the situation when the Bulls were drafting. When you have a point guard you selected with the #1 pick a year before and another under contract for 3 years and around 27 million you don't go drafting another one. You especially don't go drafting Teague, who wasn't even the best point guard who was left on the board at #16 (Holiday, Lawson and Collison were all drafted in the few spots around Teague).

Yea you're probably right. GarPax probably needed to back up Lu at the wing position more than D-Rose needed a backup. We still had Hinrich at the time.
But damn the Hawks are pretty stupid for not developing this guy the past couple seasons. The Teague kid is as good as Rajon Rondo, and a hell of a lot better than Bibby or Captain Kirk. Almost as fast as Rose and fearless going to the hoop.

Well he can make free throws better than Rondo...and just shoot better than him in general. But that's really about it. Rondo's better defensively and far better as a passing PG (even considering how much he pads his assist numbers). But yeah Teague is a lot better than a lot of people, including myself thought he was. He's playing himself into a nice contract.
