My chest still hurts.

Their fans were absolutely silent, but given the way they've played on the field, I can understand. At the game, Giaco was telling me something about it possibly being a protest, but I can't really remember what he said. At least we were to be heard.

I want to take something positive away from this game (besides the beer I picked up in Toronto), but really... we shouldn't have won this game. The defense has too many holes showing. Any half-decent team should have put in at least two in the 2nd half.

I said that since I didn't hear from any of the NEE guys I know--and RPB was on the skids with the lil' MLSE payroll scandal that U-sector and TRN (if they really exist) decided that they should do a 'passive protest'. They showed up in limited numbers and only cheered when the team actually played positively. Of course for much of the crowd, scoring their first and second goal of the season--as well as having the lead (for the 3 mins they did) was enough for them to cheer. Hell, after halftime I thought it would go back to normal, but they only cheered until we took the lead and then were silent and docile again.

I actually feel bad for them--TFC fans deserve better than what they're getting now. Winter needs to go and TFC is on the way to not only having the worst record to start a season, but just the worst record ever.....I mean, I think they're chasing DC's record from a few years ago, or NE's futility last year.

shiiiiiiit.

Anyhow, it was a solid win for the supporters who made the trek, but it wasn't a win that I'd go and toot my whistle about. We should have expected to win and by a better margin.

And yes Tony, the back line was LOST for good stretches....I know a few folks were even wondering what I was complaining about, but for the last 30 minutes we took on and absorbed a bombardment from one of the worst teams in the league. Shouldn't have happened--and sadly, it is one of the reasons why I have lingering doubt about the overall quality of the squad this season.

On a comedic note, I got pulled off the bus at the border--I was being a little disorderly, but managed to pull it together and not get into trouble. And then when we pulled into TO, I found out that I was staying at the Ritz Carlton for FREE! I RULE!

I agree with most of what you said except that I have absolutely no sympathy for any other East teams in league play. That said, I would root for any of them in CCL.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't feel bad for the team, I feel bad for the supporters. And even then, not all of them. But let's be honest, TFC came into the league with a lot of thunder and they have been pretty loyal to their team--but they have also been critical of moves and willing to challenge the team/front office when they feel the need. Seattle and their prom date dumpster babies have come into the league with a sense of self-importance that made TFC look like some normal folks just glad to be at the party and make some noise.

They don't have an entitlement sense to them, they demand excellence from the team and FO and voice their displeasure when they get less......and it's been getting rougher and rougher to be a TFC fan.....So I can sympathise with many of them in that way.

And yes, I've met a fair number of TFC fans and supporters, so I know a bit more about them.
