Ben wants his money make no mistakes about that. There will be no discount for the Bulls, so want or not all someone has to do is offer him something frontloaded or what would put us in the Tax and it's over.

There shouldn't be a discount but at the same time Gordon will have to understand what market value is and take that. There's 3 teams that can offer BG money and 2 of those teams aren't very good in OKC and Memphis. The only team that poses a threat is Detroit but we have a starting job for BG and Detroit doesn't. Also how much is Detroit willing to pay.

I think BG is going to have to take a the offer he got last year and be happy.

But it's nice to hear the Bulls goal is to re sign him

Get in done Gar

Anywhere between $8mil and $10mil is what I see.

If I put my money on, it will be 5 years $45mil or 6 years $54mil.

Well it's no shock that Gar likes Gordon, I mean he has been with this franchise involved with the draft process for years now.

Agree. IMHO, 6/54 is a great deal for the Bulls AND Ben.

I think Ben gets at least $60 million over 6 years. I think the Bulls will offer Gordon more than last year to show Ben that they want him back.

Remember, last years negotiations got ugly. A lot of what was said from the Bulls side to set Ben's value won't fly this time, as Ben can simply go sign with another team. If Ben Gordon has not agreed to a contract within the first 4 days or so of free agency, then we will have a big problem on our hands.

The Luxury tax cap drops so we offer him more?

How did last year's negotiations get ugly, Chicago said we'll give you this and Gordon and his agent said no till it was pulled off the table, they played who blinks first with the Bulls and lost, nothing more, nothing less.

With as much as has been said about teams trying to save money and the amount of teams that could even offer him decent money, Gordon should hope he gets the same contract offered to him last year.

I'm not 100% certain that the Bulls - Gordon are better than the Thunder + Gordon. Although he isn't as good as Derrick Rose, Durant is pretty freaking good. Westbrook is a good young point guard. I like their team if you add a scorer like Gordon. I don't like the Bulls chances next year minus Ben.

Ben's rarely missed games, but I remember 3 of them from the 07-08 season. The Bulls didn't hit 80 points in any of them while he was gone. In one of those games, we scored 67 against a terrible Minn. team. I am going to be shocked if we win more than 40 games next year if we don't add anyone to this team who can score after Gordon leaves.

Memphis would not only be adding Gordon (presumably to be their point guard), but under this situation, Thabeet as well. And then O.J. Mayo is likely to take steps as well, same with Gasol.

So they might be a better team as well.

OKC will take Rubio with the 3 pick if Memphis takes the UCONN guy. If that is the case their back court is set with Rubio and Westbrook. I agree with a prior post, I see the Bulls upping their last year offer a bit to let Gordon know he is wanted. We have alot of trading chips. Though signing Ben means luxury tax, moving other parts, could mean getting out of the LT or being in the LT very shortly. Let's hope Gar stands by his word.

i don't think okc would draft him. OKC is an even worse city than memphis, and rubio refuses to go there. i think he'll fall to the kings at #4, he seems to want to go there.

Agreed, unless we land a star like Bosh or Deng comes back to better than 06-07 form, this team isn't going to win more than 40 games w/o BG and if they do sneak into the playoffs they will get killed. And unfortunately no one else realizes it, it is beyond being a BG or Kirk fan.

You can't say that we won't beyond 40 games without Ben Gordon because how much roster changes well have. What if Rose improves alot? What if we get guy to compensate for Gordon 3 point percentage? What if John Salmons returns to his form before his injury? What if Joakim Noah becomes a really good interior defender? Theres so many question marks with this team that you have no idea how many games they win

Exactly, you are relying on several different things to get us to 40 wins. How many playoff teams do you know of that don't have a 20ppg scorer and play average defense at best? Its also easier to believe when we only won 41 games with him this year and I don't think Deng is enough of a net positive to make up for BG's loss.
