Gasol is gone. he signed because he thought we had a legit shot at a title but its not looking like thats gonna happen plus we brought in coach that doesn't really fit his style...i say he'll go back to Memphis and pair up with his brother

with that said i think it makes sene for Bulls to part ways aswell because 1 he doesn't fit the system we want to run and 2 we need to start getting younger upfront....i would say trade Pau but who wants a half season rental?

A contender and/or a team that believes he would re-sign with them.

I bet you in three years, Gasol will still be a better player than Noah, Gibson, and (the way it looks right now) Mirotic.

If the Bulls should be desperate to do anything, it should be trade Noah (13+mil) or Gibson (9mil) for something as opposed of letting their best big man (Gasol, 7+ mil) walk away for nothing.

He will not be a better player than Mirotic of Gibson in three years. With Noah, he is an unknown physically. But Gasol's re-signing depends on what they do for the future. Unless Jerry spends money immediately then this team is not going to win a championship let alone the East. I think that it is a given that Reinny is not going to spend any money. So does he blow the team up and start all over again or does he decide to keep guys like Rose and Gasol and hope like hell he strikes gold with a couple of draft choices and a free agent?

I think that to base your team in two big unknown commodities like Gasol and Rose is pretty far fetched. Gasol is declining and will continue to decline. And Rose's inability to shoot from the outside as well as drive to the basket is a pretty big risk to take going forward.

even if a contender was willing to bite i doubt they give up anything of value because everybody next year is gonna have ample enough cap space to sign him outright

Gasol has the highest trade value out of all our bigs minus maybe niko. Whatever we get for him will be more than we get for any of our other guys. I think we would get a pretty decent return for him. Especially if a team believes he'd re-sign.

This team needed to shake things up before this news broke. Now lets hope this puts them on a fast track to do so but knowing the FO they will stand pat. Unless they have a different plan for who is the center of the future it's time to play Portis more and develop his game.

The Spurs come to mind since Duncan is likely to retire next year. He'd have his chance to win a title with them and he and Duncan could share minutes this year.

Spurs rarely make trades in season and already have Aldridge and west. Doubt gasol wants to take a reduced bench role and less minutes

Spurs get Gasol to go along with Duncan, Aldridge, and maybe West.

Spurs are jammed up front already and have no need for Gasol this season. if Duncan decides he wants to call it a quits after this year then they'll look at Pau in the offseason....i think yall are being a bit too optimistic about his value

you're looking at maybe a deal with the Clippers were they send back Jamal Crawford. most teams are looking to go small anyway and are not looking for a lumbering 7 footer that can't defend the rim and is a bit whiny

Gasol has value. Of course we're not going to get a star player but a younger capable wing player or pg? Sure.

like who?

whos giving up a young capable wing player for 35 year old rental stuck in a era where guys like him aren't as valued?

Taj is more likely to fetch something like that

The Noah for Zeller and Bradley deal is looking pretty good now.

Doubt Boston would do it but hey lets see what they say if we offer it to them.

Disagree. Taj has practically no value. Would be shocked if we got a 2nd rounder. Teams will value gasols offense and cheap deal. If they view him as a rental then his value will be lower but if they think they can retain him we'll get something pretty decent. Either way, he has more value than taj rather.

eh i don't think it matters who has value and who doesn't because we probably aren't gonna make any moves anyway

Certainly possible with this front office. They might surprise us this year though. We have a log jam in the front court and a rookie with a lot of potential sitting on the bench. Not to mention, we could use a boost in the back court. I think someone gets moved but I wouldn't be surprised if no one does.
