Uptown baby!
Well there were some positives this past NHL evening chief among them that ANA lost their 3rd straight so no ground loss. Thanks SJ!

Also, tonight's loss and even the ANA loss have still allowed Saad's hustle to shine through and force his continued climb up the 2012-13 Rookie scoring leaders chart. Week before last he finally cracked the Top 10 because he was on a consecutive gm. pts. streak, last week he was in the #7 spot for a while then moved up for to a two-way tie for #5 spot, and after tonight he's in the #4 spot. FANTASTIC!

Saad has had a hell of a last month or so. Hes gotta work on that shooting percentage though. I KID. Im happy the kid takes a lot of shots. Shows confidence. Gotta admit I was a little nervous about him playing on the top line but he has put those worries to rest. Kids going to be a doozie in a few years esp mentoring with Toews. Its great stuff. Right now I would take him over that over-rated Yakupov who I have been watching closely. If you want a hard working 2 way player who doesn't cherry pick nor knows how to take a hit then Saad is your guy. If you like that other shit then pick Yakupov.

With that said trade him for Iginla.

Despite the loss to LA, Saad was just amazing last night. The kid is definitely NHL ready and a great pick at this point.

Without Hossa, Sharp, Shaw was sick/playing with the flu...Frolic was only about 25% healthy himself....what can you do.

Didn't like giving up the 5 goals. Not sure why dressing Bollig/Mayers affected that. I don't think they were on the goal for any of the goals against, both played pretty physical

After LA was shut out twice in a row, it was obvious they were going to come out of it...just was the Hawks time to play them at this point. Kind of a perfect storm.

What and awful and sloppy game that was. Lots of running around and rebounds galore. The break must have made the guys rusty, I don't think I've seen them this disorganized this season. But credit to the Kings, they had a relentless forecheck and pressured the D to make mistakes and won the battles, it looked like they wanted it more. Crawford with a bad game, but to blame him completely would be foolish since there were some bad breakdowns and unlucky bounces (like the game winner). Hammer and Oduya with bad games. Nice to see Frolik getting them points, good depth there.

Forget and move on and beat those fLames tomorrow.

I thought Keith has a worse game personally. I wondered on several plays what the hell he was thinking. Bad pinches. Bad passes. A blind drop pass to a King's player in our zone. Did not play well at all. And if Seabs hadn't bailed him out a couple of times on his mistakes, it could have been much worse. And I actually thought I saw a lack of hustle from him a couple of times on trying to get back into the play after he f'd up.

I think Seabs has had a few bad games recently, by bad I mean more not up to his usual solid standard , it all started with that game against Colorado where he let one of them fly past him and he didn't bother to defend which got him benched for half a period. Is he hurt or doesn't he just doesn't give a shit? He did get dinged in the head in that fight.

On that one, Seabs got caught flat footed. It was a bad pinch by Keith along the boards and a bad bounce. Then Ladeskog just blew by him. But that kid has wheels to spare. Can't put that one on Seabs and I thought it was BS of Q to bench him for that.

NoT to minimize the chinese fire drills in our zone, but can't help but think that if the trip on Shaw had been called and the (IMO) questionable kicked in goal disallowed the game has a different out come. Good teams over come poor officials, can't win em all.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Key to today's game vs. Calgary:

Defense:

The team needs to play some. And I'm not *just* talking about the blueliners. These chinese firedrills in the back end need to fucking stop and everyone needs to stop with the no-look passes; no one on the team has the talent to pull them off.
