Maybe he'd seen you passing by, day after day on the way to your horse, and you never waived back...so he decided to stop you, and introduce himself.

You can find assholes in all walks of life, but asshole cops will sometimes seek you out like salesmen or religious zealots.

Or the greeter at Walmart that takes his job too seriously.

The guy was a nice guy though..He wasn't an asshole at all...Just strict. I suspect that he was a main source of revenue for the little town. It was funny..He had the single light on top of his car, just like Fife did...lol

How can you tell when a cop is the 'real deal' and not a scam? Anybody could slap a light on a Crown Vic and pick up bribes outside a one stop town.

Check into his bona fides, just like he did yours. He might be wanted for "impersonating LE" and who knows what all.

And then go out of your way to make him stop and talk to you, the next time you get a chance.

Been driving since 2007 with an expired Florida tag in IL., don't feel like paying the title transfer fee and cannot renew said Florida tag w/o a dual insurance policy for Florida.

Yes, I'm stubborn...but find it a novelty passing people in the snow with FL tag.

Haven't been pulled over in almost 5 years...last time was 4 years ago and was only issued a speeding tic.

If I pulled somebody over for a tag five years in arrears; I'd pull everbody out and "pat 'em down for my safety" before I searched the car (inventory) for an impound tow; then I'd invite all the occupants to catch another lift or be arrested for loitering.

Nobody can safely drive above the limit anywhere in Illinois because the roads are terrible. Speeding is an automatic "stop and see" what's up/you crazy.

Splashed chicks standing too close to a puddle on a rainy day...cops stopped me. They accussed me of doing it on purpose.

I asked them if I was responsible for the shitty roads and random chicks everywhere, or just here on campus? He cursed me out and sent me on my way.

Frock the po po, those chicks wanted to get splashed 'else they would'nt have been there. And the roads suck in Illinois anyway.

Once upon a time...I was driving to Chicago from out west. I'm a notorious speeder...so during that last leg up I-55 through the central part of the state I've got the cruise control set at 95. Way to into whatever music I'm playing and I see myself blow by the Trooper parked in the middle of the highway. I tap the breaks to shut off the cruise control and check the mirror...sure enough he's hitting the light. Pull over and roll my window down.

"Son...step on back to my vehicle please."

(oh crap)

"Just jump in up front with me."

(oh...kay?)

"You've got a headlight out...just writing you up this warning in case you get pulled over again...give the officer this and they won't ticket you."

(oh...cool)

Gives me the slip of paper and tells me to get the light fixed tomorrow.

No lie...two days later I'm just off to see my sister in the suburbs and a trooper pulls me over on the highway.

"Sir, do you know how fast you were going?"

"65?"

(the posted limit)

"I clocked you at 68."

(three miles over the posted limit)

"Ummm...sorry?"

(cop returns to his vehicle and comes back with a citation)

"I'm citing you for driving too fast for the conditions...take it down to 55."

"Conditions?"

"The rainstorm this morning."

(two in the afternoon...no puddles in sight)

"Ummm...okay."

So it's always been for me behind the wheel...cruise along the interstate at 100 mph...no problems. Make a rolling stop at an intersection with no other visible traffic at three in the morning...seventy-five dollar fine.

You're right, I should have added:

If you are a minority, you will be racially profiled and pulled over for no reason.

False again....Most PD's have strict rules against racial profiling these days. Besides, I'm as white as they come and I got pulled over for basically "no reason"..The "no reason" excuse is in the mind of the person being pulled over cause they are blind to the mistake they made. They think that whatever they did was so minor, it shouldn't even be considered as a reason to get stopped. If the said driver is a minority, in their mind, they got stopped for no other reason than their minority status. That's BS..However small the infraction was, it was still an infraction and can get ya stopped. I've heard of a shitload of cases from my relatives who are cops, where they stopped someone for a minor infraction and wound up with a body in the trunk, or a load of weed etc in the car. Plus, you have to realize that if your'e driving in a known drug dealing area ( example) going slow and looking around, you're going to get stopped. The excuse of a traffic violation is just that. An excuse!. However, there IS a reason for you being stopped. You fit the profile of someone looking to buy drugs etc.

Most know that I referee football, but I've also reffed water polo for the past couple of years. Last year I did a game at South Shore High School (75th and Jeffery). Now, I'm a white guy from the suburbs. I was driving home and I got pulled over around 79th and Woodlawn. Cop came up to my window, quite surprised that I was in the neighborhood. He asked me what the **** I was doing there. When I told him I just got done with a game, all he wanted to know was if I had a valid drivers license, and insurance. After I said yes to both he told me that he was going to pull in front of me and take me to the Dan Ryan, even going through red lights as needed.

Dude was alright in my book.

I've been pulled over twice, neither of them being in the City of Scranton, but being in neighboring Dickson City, and Roaring Brook. The Roaring Brook cop was cool, I was going up 307 which is basically a backroad highway, made an illegal U-Turn and he watched me do it, pulled me over, ran my shit asked why I was up here told him it was just a ride after work since I didn't wanna go home yet, and he said well you can't be doing that up here people do 100 mph you'll get plowed and let me go with a verbal warning.

Now the Dickson City cop was a huge prick. I got stuck behind him at a light, in which he is pulled up way over the line as well may I add, I follow his pace maintaining his speed which is around 40 in a 25 zone. He gets into a turning lane and I go passed him, maintaining my speed from before, he gets back into the straight lane and flags me, my gf is in the car with me and she's just like here we go. First thing he says, license registration, I go for it and he says "was I going to slow for you" I said what he repeats himself, and then says I was doing 45 in a 25 and riding his ass all the way up the road, he was in an SUV I'm in a small car.. he says he can't see my headlights in his rear view and readily admits he was speeding when he tells me that he was doing 40 and I was keeping up, goes back runs my info mean time my gf is cracking jokes about what a dick he is, he comes back gives me my stuff and says the speed limit is 25 try to do 25 and walks away.

That doesn't make the cop a dick... It makes you a fuckin' idiot.

I was pulled over once when I was about 17. The cop came up to my window and said, "I thought your plates were expired but after I looked again, I see that they aren't."

He ran my license, saw I was clean and let me go.

More assholes need to be pulled over for tailgating. Run 65 in a 55 and some stupid **** will be 15 feet off my bumper.

My favorite "pulled over" story;

We'd been told about a group of "bad cop" filmers that might be coming into the area; and that they may sometimes try to provoke encounters and/or film cops doing bad shit. (filming good/provoking bad)

So I was driving home at the end of my shift and traffic was kind of thick, but moving OK considering I'm in a cop car; which mostly sucks because everybody slows down around you. I was just happy everybody is doing 50+ in a 45.

Anyway, this woman in an SUV is totally riding my ass...I mean all up in my junk like she wants a piece of my trunk...I even brake-checked her once but that only backed her off for a minute or two. Three lanes of traffic and I'm in the middle just going with the flow as best I can. But I can see her face in the rear view like I'm giving her a ride to the jail...she's that close, and for several miles.

So we finanlly get to a red light that I knew was kind of long, and I did something you shouldn't ever do; I got out and walked back to her door to ask what her problem was. Best way to get shot/runover/ambushed is to walk towards a car head on, especially in three lanes of semi-stopped traffic.

(*its Bad, and not safe so don't try it at home)

She never once responded to me, and never even turned her head to look at me through the open window as I inquired about her 'mental issues' in my best, "are you fucking crazy?" voice. I assumed she was one of our 'visiting filmers' and has me on tape that was never used.

I will give her this much though; she did everything right during our encounter (she only cracked a little smile once). And I did everything within my rights when I cussed her ass out, got back in my car, and drove away when the light changed.

Ass-riders suck.

The last time I brake checked an ass rider the stupid ***** hit me. Her car was totaled and my van was fine. She got a ticket and I got a check.
