Don't listen to him, so far life has been the same for me: dinner is still late; laundry still doesn't get put away....[/quote]

HA! I guess. Dinner is still horrible and the Laundry is always eventually put away.

Unless it's Pepper Steak night. Then dinner is OOOOUT STANDING!

There you women go, with your obscession with a signed piece of paper and a ring.

The paper and the ring aint gonna make a man or woman for that matter any less likely to end the relationship when and if they want to, that piece of paper just ended up making it a giant pain in the ass for all parties involved.

I would have stayed with my (ex) girlfriend until I died, I just don't see the point in a marriage certificate and refuse to budge, and she threw it away because of that. Fine wish her all the luck in the world after she gets married after dating a guy for a year then gets divorced 5 years later.

seriously our breakup was a spitting image of that scene from the movie "hes not that into you" between ben affleck and jennifer aniston, except at the end I dont decide to marry her anyway.

dont mean to rain on getinthere's parade if your into marriage thats great. its just not for me :)

Just what would be the drastic change in your life if you signed that piece of paper? If you lived with her anyway very little would change except she'd have your last name and be entilted to a few benefits. You act like she'd put a ring through your nose and parade you around like her prized pig.

Ok here is TOTALLY different woman's perspctive.....nothing really does change except the girls last name if she so chooses. It's not about a ring...I should know as I lost the first one.

Basically you're now just legally bound to like each other and can't testify against each other in a court of law.

After being married to jakobeast for 8 years and together for 12 the only thing that has changed is his hair length. Nothing changes.

Also - I am still awesome.

If it wasn't worth it people wouldn't do it, but at the same time 50% of them end up in divorce, so take from that what you will. I just drink through mine.

Not true...you just cant be MADE to testify agaisnt each other. Not that I know anything about that...uh, yeah.

I disagree a little with you, things do change. I am on my second marriage (i did not cause the divorce, she did, she was a doorknob...everyone took a turn). So i will base al of this on my second marriage, whch just hit the 15 year point this July. Things do change, some for the good, some for the bad, but they do change, thats just part of life. Not saying they are drastic changes...just changes. The biggest thing Lisa (Mrs Bubblehead) and I fight is complacency..we find we get complacent about certain things. We get into the "Well you normally do that, so I didn't think about it" which can lead to some serious arguments if we were to let it.

Oh and both of us have put on some serious weight. I was 155lbs, she was 103. I bounce between 180 and 200...and I wont say what she has put on as I dont want my pecker cut off in my sleep.

gettinsome, seriously congratulations. If she is worth it, but more importantly you are worthy of her, then by all means do it.
