our offense better get their heads out of their asses or this NL west stretch could bring us even further down..if that's possible

I admire that you haven't given up yet

Cubs are 15 under .500, 12 games back of first, and have the second-worst record in MLB. I wouldn't get too disappointed when they lose from here on out ;)

The Cubs get to face Lincecum Wednesday, who's coming off of a seven inning, 12 strikeout and zero earned run performance in his last start.

Surprisingly, Lincecum career numbers against the Cubs aren't as good as I thought. 3-3 record with a 3.50 ERA. For some reason I thought his ERA against the Cubs was in the 2's. Still it's not like a 3.50 ERA is awful either.

What you thought Lincecum was Jimmy Anderson or something?

Where did he say that? I'd figure a multiple time Cy Young award winner would have outstanding numbers against every team.

Really we are going down this road again? I was more making a joke about how random crappy pitchers would dominant the Cubs or am I the only one that remembers how Jimmy Anderson would magically morph into a Cy Young winner when he faced the Cubs.

I think we can take 2 out of the 5 games, but what does any of it matter unless this team wins 10 in a row.

I think we at the point worse they are better future they have. Might as well get very nice draft pick then can get big FA without losing top pick.

If this was the NFL, I might agree with that, but let's look at the Cubs highest draft picks in the past 15 years. Corey Patterson, Louis Montanez, and Mark Prior were the Cubs picks when they had a top 5 pick. You can add in guys like Mark Pawlecek and Ryan Harvey. Getting a high draft pick is far from a lock of getting us a useful player, and I would rather see a team win now then get a good draft pick. I know it is beyond unlikely that this team puts a run together, but what else do I have to root for besides Castro extending his hitting streak.

Lineup for today game

Fuku, campana, castro, a-ram, pena, soriano, dewitt, soto

atleast Quade figured out DeWitt not a 3 hole hitter...i still would put campana in 1 hole with fuku in 2 hole.

Why? So Kosuke can hit with one out and nobody on to start the game?

Cause when Campana does get on he is more likely to steal when Fukudome is up who takes pitches more then A-Ram who swings at 1st pitch ALOT.

I still want to see Quade pull a LaRussa and bat Campana as the 9th hitter. What is wrong with batting Fukudome, Castro, Ramirez, Pena the first four?

Nothing.

But Quade wants speed at the top of the lineup even if he's an out 75% of the time, so whatever.

With Z hitting i wouldnt think that be bad idea at all. Campana basically becomes the 1 hitter after 1st inning. What scares me when Z not hitting is taking the bat out of ur 7 hole hitter. Usually Soriano is there so dont want him seeing pitches out of the strikezone for the intentional but not intional walk. He would prolly swing at all of them lol
