good win today for Cubs. I started listening to game in 5th and starting watching it in the 9th. Bullpen was GREAT

I figured that was the implication with them getting a record that would make them 23rd overall. I realize that is possible for them to have the 8th best record and not make the playoffs, but was trying to be clever about hoping for the near impossible.

I'd love for the Cubs to make the playoffs this year and win the World Series. I'd still want the club to be blown up and rebuilt though :lol:

With Hendry being GM they wont blow it up. Only way i see it happening if Ricketts decides to bring in new guy

Hendry would blow it up as much as GM can if he had new paper. But since he only has a year left on his deal and the handwriting is starting to show up on the wall so to speak, there is no reason for him to do anything longterm to let another guy reap the benefits of his hard work.

Friedman wouldn't be a bad pick, Wilken was Asst GM when Friedman was scouting director. Wonder what their relationship was like and if Wilken perhaps has hard feelings since Friedman did essentially his job in Toronto (scouting director) and was chosen to be GM over him.
