My favorite teams
The only way I'm sold on Kahn is if he can bring Tomlin
I would think most teams find him a limited choice for today's pass first offenses. At hart he is a ground and pound OC. The QB's he has developed Kapernick, Jackson, and to a lesser degree Huntley are not great pocket passers. Even great athletic quarterbacks like Mahomes, Allen, Wilson to name a few still have to make the majority of their throws from the pocket to have moved to the next level.Seems strange on the surface. Wonder why….
My problem with Ireland is not as much the talent that he has drafted or had a hand in drafting, but his choices for HC's when he was the GM in Miami.Yes the Saints are in cap hell right now, worst in the league. They had a HOF QB and a great coach and I feel that is the reason for their success more than great organizational management. So I am leery about Ireland from NO but not totally opposed to him like the candidates from the Browns organization.
Not my 1st choice but wouldn't bitch. I think the GM should pick his coach but with Harbaugh, it might work better the other way around, LOL.Ryan Day just filled two positions on his staff, Harbaugh has not filled any. There is still remote chance at Harbaugh per Hoge.
2 candidates from the Browns organization (Adofo-Mensah and Glenn Cook). Really? A team who hasn't placed better than 3rd in their division in 10 years and is a combined 52-108 over that span with 7 head coaches.
Fixed it for you.I honestly have no clue. I see no need to rush this though and hope they do as thorough a job as possible. Get it right Polian.
But to not even get interviews? He’s had success and Jackson has improved quite a bit as a passer. He also had some success developing tyrod Taylor. Pass first offenses are a valid point, but there is more than one way to skin a cat, and success is success. The titans seem to have no problem winning with a similar philosophy. Unless you have a TB/Peyton Mannning type, you need a team and a coach that can muck it up and win on the ground. I think it’s very strange that he isn’t getting interviewsI would think most teams find him a limited choice for today's pass first offenses. At hart he is a ground and pound OC. But isn't that a weird situation, like the old GM retiring after the draft?Their long time GM is retiring so if they don't offer it to Khan that's enough said.
So give the GM job to Khan if he promises to bring Tomlin with him?Pittsburgh is one of those teams that's truly a QB away. Tomlin is one of the 5 best coaches in football.
George makes the final decision though.Fixed it for you.
Pittsburg has had 8 losing seasons and 5 8-8 seasons since 1972. That is 13 bad seasons in 50 years, and 5 of them were not even losing seasons. That is 26% non-winning seasons in the last 50 years.6 out of 10 seasons with 10+ wins and no losing seasons. They did have Big Ben but he hasn't been a special QB for a few years now. Definitely a solid organization.
But I agree with you on Kahn. I either want an assistant GM, director of pro personnel or director of college scouting. Those are really the only 3 people with major weight in personnel decisions. Kahn is an executive and may have had little to do with talent acquisition. I think he is worth a look but I would need insider info that he was heavily involved in the draft and free agency before I would even consider him.
What kind of food should we discuss here? Or anyone have a good show recommendation?
It's crazy how many streaming services there are now. I'll end up paying the same outrageous prices I was for cable to have all the streaming services I want lol
in principle. He's going to lean heavily on Polian (and his unnamed source who I think is Trace Armstrong).George makes the final decision though.
Someone needs to remind George of the Dez Bryan fiasco stat.I just have a feeling Ireland is a front runner for the Bears. All that nostalgia the Bears ownership loves:
Dungy is who more have mentioned. Think Trace might be a conflict of interest since he reps a lot of these guys. But that’s pure speculationin principle. He's going to lean heavily on Polian (and his unnamed source who I think is Trace Armstrong).
I’m more worried about the shitty job he did in Miami. They got worse, not better.Someone needs to remind George of the Dez Bryan fiasco stat.
