You ever wonder how good ole Go Getter chose his screen name?

I bet you did! Well I'll tell you.

It started in a small home in the South side of Chicago. South 113th street to be exact....[some people call it the Wild 100s or Roseland]....my cousins and I wanted a way to get my younger cousin into basketball and AAU without a lot of bull....plus my family loves kids and doing work in the community.

My older cousin is like a legend in our neighborhood--he played ball at Wisconsin-Parkside and a couple other schools...so he already had a following of kids that just liked his game.

So we decided to start own own [non-profit] b-ball league for kids...it's all year round basically [we have AAU affiliation and run our own tournaments out of West Pullman Park as well]....kids from 4th grade up through HS hoop with us. Some are very good and get recruited to play HS ball even.

I don't care how short he is I love this kid's game and attitude....never complained, always smiling, very attentive, and has a MEAN crossover....he broke some kid off something serious in the tourney I wish I still had the vid.

Darius is a beast [shredded sleeves]. This pic was when he had just graduated 8th grade. He started varsity in a good program his freshman year.

Yessir!

One is my younger cousin...he's going to be a freshman at Seton this year.

Although I think the Red South is the toughest sectional the Catholic league isn't that far behind.

If anyone has any info or tips on sponsorship please send them my way.

These kids for the most part are very good people and they love basketball. In some cases playing ball with us is the thing they most look forward too....it keeps them motivated and out of trouble...I'd love to be able to help give them more...you know, get them out of Chicago during the summer and broaden their horizons.

Chs is an active poster who plays AAU ball in New Jersey I believe.

Sounds cool man, have they played up against any recognizable names?

Most of our guys are just hitting HS.

Some of them play for Julian, Washington Park, Fenger (yeah, I know), Seton, etc.

We're trying to make this push to get some of our better guys into college right now so wish us luck!

If some of your guys are looking into colleges, etc. Tell them (the second they hit high school) to fill out every questionnaire on D2 schools athletic websites. This gets them on the radar and teams will specifically target them.

Just a thought.

What are some of the D-2 schools in the mid west that you are fond of?

Just look up list of D2 schools and literally have them fill one out for every school.
