@nvanprooyen also, can you clarify what a 'snack' is? For me a snack is simple, quick and convenient. No hassle essentially. You seem to be mentioning snacks that require some sort of cooking or transforming them - maybe you are looking for GOAT appetizers?
Are there other things to do in Iowa outside of spritzing some citrus on pre-made snacks?

Cheese, crackers, summer sausage is tough to beat. Hell, string cheese or cheese cubes are one of my go tos

On this note, that Tillamook Cheddar snack cheese that you get at Costco is legit.

What you got? I'll get this rolling with cajun boiled peanuts. People in the south know what I'm talking about...

I remember my first time having boiled peanuts when I moved down to Monticello (Jefferson county) Florida…….it was an eye opener for sure. Never had the Cajun version though.

The cajun version is much, much better. Especially if you can find someone who knows what they are doing. Most convenience stores will throw some Peanut Patch cans into a crock pot and call it a day (which honestly is still pretty decent) but some places that make them from scratch are where it's at.

Had boiled peanuts in Charleston last week. Disgusting! Just not my thing I guess. My go to snacks: Beef Jerky, dried strawberries specifically and only from Bayside candy out of NY, and Clausen pickles with French salad dressing.

I have searched high and low for the perfect dried Strawberry and these are the very best. Used to be about $16/lb until I just checked. Prices up on everything and everywhere. If you have the itch like I do, try these. They go great in a homemade trail mix or by themselves.

GOAT

Peanut butter and Pretzel MMNs are super good too mixed up with one another.
