Which firm are you at? I worked at kpmg consulting for 2 years for returning to CA for law school.

Well i dont want to say as I still work there and they tend to frown upon employees outing themselves on social media but big 4.

I've been outside of Paris and all around the country side as well and didn't get that at all plus I'm a person of color to boot. But again I think it boils down to language. The more you get out of the city the less likely you are to have people that speak English so the French you encounter don't hate Americans. They are weary of anyone that doesn't speak French.

I never felt it because most of my experience in the French country side was me traveling with my girlfriend when I was living in London. She was French Portuguese working in a French hotel in London. We'd go to France for the weekend like twice a month.

It would probably be different if I wasn't with her but don't think it's isolated to Americans is my point. It's an issue with foreigners in general particularly if they don't speak French.

I had 3 years of French in the glorious Illinois public high school system, so, in other words, I could not speak French. Fair point.

More important question: how many years until that sweet big-4 pension vests?

Shits already vested and they sponsored my permanent residence so I can now transfer jobs freely. So it's Partner or I'm peacing out.

Great thing about accountants. People always need them in good times or bad.

Flights about to land so Wi-Fi will be gone a sec. So have a good night.

Supply and demand. Europeans drink a shit ton less soda so restaurants charge a higher price to maintain a decent profit margin.

By contrast like Soda in the US, wine in Europe is plentiful and in massive demand so wine is basically the soda pop of Europe. They churn out house wines for cheap using the grapes that aren't good enough for more expensive wines.

Does anyone shower in this god forsaken city?

Having a wonderful time fellas, went to the catacombs today. If you didn't know about its where 6 million dead bodies were put during various illness breakouts like the plague.

BTW, Coke is $5 a can at restaurants, but for a nice glass full it's $2.50 at the club underneath my hostel. Also, I've seen only a few hot girls, most of the others reek of BO.

Hope you're all having a fine week.

I'm back guys, I managed to avoid ISIS. I had an amazing time. It was an absolute culture shock.

Here's the gardens of Versailles.

Some mildly famous painting from a fairly well known artist.

Went to Notre Dame yesterday. I was there while mass was going on, pretty surreal experience.

We don't have the art that France has. Anything as little as how the street lights differ from America can be considered a culture shock.

hopefully you didnt cova and downplay yo murcanisms... make them think gun loving.. jerry springer... wwe.. pizzza burger ranch drinking murican.... or perhaps.. murica wasnt even on they mind... well until you spoke.. then its what.. whatcha thank about trump... squirt squirt...

Oh man, yeah that sucked. The lack of public bathrooms was ridiculous. I had to use a pay toilet on a handful of occasions. Also ATM's were hard to find and I looked for a post office to mail postcards and couldn't find any of those either. Another thing I hated was how somethings were closed of certain days they were sup posed to be open, I missed out on visiting the Opera house because of that. The subway system is a mess too.
