Leming is doing nothing but speculating.

It seems like he knows something more which is why i posted it...If it was just pure speculation on his part he would have said goldman should/could have an extension this week instead of will meaning he knows something more.

I'd be ecstatic if the bears could sign goldman prior to sunday...

People are speculating that Lemming is speculating.....CCS.

He does this all the time. Makes some profound statement and then if it happens retweets his shit and toots his own horn like he's some sort of insider. Maybe this could have happened if we didn't sign Mack, but I'm assuming that trade took a lot of attention away from Goldman and his deal.

were now 5 under the cap, it won't happen

You don't need much room in year 1 (and sometimes extensions actually save cap room in year 1) because the first year's salary can be converted to signing bonus to spread the cap hit over the term of the contract.

100 mil is literally close to half of the cap for 2019. With QB and RB on rookie deals, it seems that would be close to average.

Spotrac has the Bears at $8M
and
OTC has them at $6.5M
So enough to cover a $10M SB and still leave some for emergencies.

NFLPA had them at 11 million.

I think that the Bears will get this done. Keep the good vibes going.

I was just looking at OTC. Bears have a $4.5 million cap hit in 2018 for dead money for Mike Glennon. Fuck me.

Also, they could give Goldman a $20 million signing bonus on a 5-year deal and be fine. His current deal has $1.2 million in salary against this year's cap that could at least partially be converted to signing bonus money, too.
