It's not that he isn't a great defensive 1B. It's that is is completely incompetent when holding a glove in his hand and a huge liability to any team that places him there

And I wasn't saying he wasn't a HOF because this year, sorry if I wasn't clear. I was saying nobody wants him anymore which is why he is on the Sox still

i guess billy beane is an idiot.

When asked Sunday by Jen Lada of CSNChicago.com if he planned to play next season, Adam Dunn said "this is probably it."

Mentally drained?

the dude has been struggling with not seeing his family the last couple years. his heart for the game isn't there anymore. If he goes deep into the playoffs that may re ignite his flame but im pretty sure as reports have stated he just wants to chill with his family as he feels it is more important than a game.

Dunn set a record the other day with rbi in 8 straight games bridging over two teams.

Hope he has his playoff moment

Baseball will be better without him ... he's been a blight on the Sox and an embarrassment to his peers since he got here. No pride ...

Sadly, there is more truth to this than some fans want to admit.

His contract was a colossal waste of money, and probably set the Sox back 2 or 3 years.

That all changes starting this offseason, though.

I look forward to watching Hahn turn this team into a contender. :whitesox:

He was no worst than the third best hitter on the team except for one season. I wasn't a fan of his but don't let reality cloud your judgment

A few of you guys are in serious denial.

Nobody hates Dunn. Nothing he did in Chicago justified a $56MM contract.

The reality is he fucking sucked and his contract was a waste.

You got some evidence that suggests otherwise, please share it.

He wasn't worth his contract, never played at career averages. But he was beneficial this year for certain helping Abreu both at the plate and at first IMO.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I am amazed how a player like him NEVER made any adjustments to his game in order to get better. He could really have been a lock for the HOF by learning to hit the ball where it was pitched instead of trying to jack the ball all of the time. That is totally on him. They might as well have had a damn gorilla out there with a baseball bat 95% of the time.

I wish that I shared your optimism about Hahn. What he didn't do this year, namely putting together a decent pitching staff or at least a future one, to me was a massive failure.

How can you make such an ignorant comment?
