Remy just can't admit he's wrong.

Good for cam tho. It was the right move by pace not retaining him.

If Pace didnt want him then he shouldnt have tendered him. That was precisely the point. He chose to tender him but then did so at an amount that did little to benefit the Bears.

He may have done Cam a favor and tendered him an amount that would get him a contract. An amount he would have been OK to roll the dice with. Seemed a little weird at the time but nobody is in Paces head and he's helped players before. Meredith's yearly guaranteed money from the Saints was actually below a second round tender, $2.7m per over 2 years vs the $2.9 2nd round tender in the year he was less likely to contribute as much. A 2nd round tender keeps him in Chicago.

Key word is may.

This is probably pretty close to what Pace was thinking. They had Cam’s medicals and were willing to bring him back but weren’t worried about it if he left. Pace and the coaching staff were probably kind of like we could take him or leave him. They also obviously had plans to upgrade the position. According to Wikipedia Cam was tendered on 3/12/18 and Robinson and Gabriel were signed two days later.

And over 2 years the Cam Guarantee was 5.4m. That said, Pace treats money like it grows on trees but that's a different issue..

Really the cap wasn’t an issue until the Mack signing. He hasn’t managed the cap well since though.

Ehhh, he has been giving ridiculous contracts out for a while, cap would have been an issue down the line

I agree. I was just saying the Mack contract is when it feels like that changed. Like he got a taste for giving out big contracts and now just can’t help himself.

Possible but Saints likely would have still signed him without the tender. Cam also had an offer sheet from the Ravens but opted for the Saints offer. He had a pretty decent market.
