A buddy of mine has a disagreement with his wife on phrasing.
When he wants the room colder, he wants the air conditioning turned up.
She adamently believes the proper phrase when wanting the room colder is turn the air conditioning down.

I side with him, and that is the way I have always referred to it.

What say everyone else?

With a nest, we just open the app on my phone and change it whichever way. But yeah basically. I thought about it the other day when I said we should turn down (or up, I don't remember) the thermostat, and then was thinking which way is actually right. But then moved on.

Turn the A/C down is the correct way to say it. Saying you want it turned up is just confusing. Why would I want the A/C to go up in temperature to when I want the temperature to go down?

Idk, i'm confused

So you mean to tell me that AC down = more AC?

This is like using inverted controls in games...why...

The AC doesn't crank any harder, bozo. It just stays on longer.
Mine has a supercooling function that expedites the process, thanks anyways, wanker.
