Yes, I live in the south. Ya cold climate hussiesTurn the temperature down. Turn the fan up. A/C is a more general term. It's main purpose is to make it cooler, so if you want it to work more (make it cooler), you turn it up.
When it is too cool because of A/C, do you say turn it up?

Depends on the unit and type of house. Larger houses will have AC's that can run lower power and if they need to will increase output as needed. Recently had to repair an AC on a house we sold and had to test coolant levels at different cycles and wait for the unit to jump into a higher "gear" so to speak to fully test the leak/repair.The AC doesn't crank any harder, bozo. It just stays on longer.
HVAC apprenticing ain't what it used to be...
