  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
1)Who would u rather have Andy Reid or Getsy? I covered JF here in link #108 . I never said a good Qb was not important. I've always been a proponent of good Qb development. Again.....I did cover JF here in link #108 .

2) I never said nor compared Getsy to "anyone else last year." Overall the Bear were in the shotgun more than the under center. I was asking for more plays than the under center last season. I did notice last season lots of compressed shotgun sets near the tackle. We ran quite a bit from the shotgun last season.

3) I gave u typical reads ( the "Z" is usually the best wr, especially in the spread). Then I said......."Can the that change depending on the defensive alignment and coverage.....absolutely." Right or wrong?

1 The question wasn't Andy Reid or Getsy, it was OC vs QB. Again, please stop trying to defend this very bad argument. Mahomes vs Trubisky derp, derp.

2 You are now changing your argument. Football is now played from the shotgun a lot. Every OC does that. Again, a bad argument and you are changing it midstream.

3 I didn't argue that it can't be changed based on coverage, I argued that it was inaccurate to begin with, and it is.

As usual you are being disingenuous, changing your argument, and trying to divert the argument away from your poor point.

1) That's fine we can leave a good Qb developer like Reid out of the discussion. Again I covered JF here in link #108 .

2) Sigh.....we're talking about the Bears OC not "Every OC". The discussion ( not argument) centered on Getsy.
I haven't "changed anything" copy and paste it and I'll address it.

3) Here's where this roughly started #116 >>> LOL I looked up how many games Claypool played.....did u???? Go to Pro FB Reference Sigh. In football, have u ever heard of "match-ups" and "mismatches" based on on strength, size and or speed ???? Especially in the 'red zone' . in link #118 you claimed I couldn't discuss reads.I went ahead and explained what I meant.

Here's what u said>>> "3 You do not understand how reads work evidently. Each play has a progression based on the coverage. That progression doesn't start with one position most of the time, and if there was a position it tended to start with, it would be X, not Z."

Here's how I responded>>>>>>> "3) I gave u typical reads ( the "Z" is usually the best wr, especially in the spread). Then I said......."Can that change depending on the defensive alignment and coverage.....absolutely." Right or wrong?

Please go back and look at links #130 #132 in terms of u changing things. Plus How am I being "disingenuous"? Heck i'm the one trying to provide proof of everything being said via direct quotes and linked post #'s, I've asked u a couple times to copy & paste whatever u have a issue with.....and you pretty much refused.

Now that’s it over, what grade do you give Poles for his second draft? Discuss
I think they did well by trying to cover all their needs. We obviously won't know how they turn out until they play, but I think the Bears did well. A little too much reliance on RAS for my sake, but hey...I'm not the GM.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but it seemed like the wheels came off towards the end. I thought they would move around a bit more and for better players too. Stevenson is a great press corner with size, but has major question marks in zone coverage. Also not targeting any edge rushers especially in later rounds ( Horton, McGuire in 4th or Morris, Hampton in the 5th ) is going to hurt them. RJ & Tyler Scott are good weapons but a luxury especially considering how crowded those groups are already. The rest seemed like wasted picks.

I liked them selecting Wright and them double-dipping on DT, but IDK, beyond that it didn't seem like a well executed plan. And a shame considering we had the 1st overall pick. I want them to hit on these players, but I fear this regime over-prioritizes measureables above game tape.
A+

Poles did especially well with the Caroline trade Getting a stud WR, Rookie RT, plus Carolina's 1 next year and 2 the following year. This alone got him an A.

Rookies should get some starts at DT, RT, LB and maybe CB as well. This draft could be the foundation of future sustained success.

This is the year Fields steps up or has to step aside next year.

Weird quesiton to ask yourself considering it doesn't pertian to Chase Young.
So there were some additional comments from Rivera as to why they declined his option. Notable in Rivera's comments:

Guys that produce for us we want to keep them around. That's been the message. I believe [Young] has adapted to it nicely. He's working hard. I'll be excited to see him when he has to be here.

The coaching and OC need to step up as well

Ha! Too early to tell if it's Riley Ridley or Daniel Braverman vibes. There was another guy - I can't remember his name off hand right now. Though your reply brings me to another thought I should have added to my above post:

* At yesterday's press conference, Poles alluded to (paraphrasing here) Jaylon Johnson being around for a long time. I simply can't remember if I've heard a thing about Mooney and a possible extension.
A thought I will add about your thought ...

Poles said that Roquan would be around for a long time. Roquan was soon gone. Poles said that Monty would be around for a long time. Monty went to Detroit.

When Poles said that Jaylon would be around for a long time, that should have sent a shiver down Jaylon's spine because Poles "around for a long time" is a figurative kiss of death.

Mooney should be excited that he was not going to be "around for a long time". That might be his chance of getting an extension with the Bears.

The first six players chosen will make the team.

Granted, it’s easier to make the roster of a team that was 3-14.

But Wright, the two DLs, Stevenson, Johnson and Scott are likely starters or contributors, and that’s a lot.

That is if none of the rest stand out. And Newell and others could at least be ST contributor.

He drafted 10, and 7 or more could stick.
I was thinking that the Bears are going to have a really good special teams with all of those athletes playing special teams.

Wow, glad the Bears didn't look at your comments before picking, you're way off on many especially Sewell.
