2 (39) Kyler Gordon DB Washington - 48 total tackles, 1 pick, 1 FF, 4 PD. Looks like he is getting better, but still seems pretty slow for an NFL corner to me B-
2 (48) Jaquan Brisker DB Penn State - 62 total tackles, 3 sacks, 1 pick, looks like a solid NFL safety B+
3 (71) Velus Jones WR Tennessee - Thought this was a huge reach on draft day and everyone was right. Can't give up on him because of his blazing speed. I give this a C-
5 (168) Braxton Jones OT Southern Utah - You can easily see he is an athlete, but obviously needs to get stronger at the point of attack as he consistently gets bull rushed. He will definitely get better when he gets stronger. Really good pick here for a starting left tackle in the 5th round - A
5 (174) Dominique Robinson LB Miami (OH) - Good developmental player although no sacks since week 1 with 1.5 - B+
6 (186) Zachary Thomas OG San Diego State - I actually thought he would be a good player on the practice squad. Since he is still on the team - C+
6 (203) Trestan Ebner RB Baylor - 18 carries / 46 yards 2.6 per carry. Disappointed how slow he looks - D
6 (207) Doug Kramer C Illinois - Put on IR (incomplete)
7 (226) Ja'Tyre Carter OG Southern - Haven't seen him yet
7 (254) Elijah Hicks DB California - 3 tackles mostly on special teams. In limited action may work out B+
7 (255) Trenton Gill P North Carolina State - Averaging 47.6 per kick, but block was a killer. This was obviously done to save cap space - B

Undrafted - Jack Sanborn - 19 tackles with 2 sacks last game and a pick over 1st two starts - Actually looks to be the most impactful rookie on the team - Roquan only had 5 tackles in his debut for Baltimore.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears

This. And I’d say while a small sample size, but Sanborn has to get a B.

Velus Jones

Injured...

Slow to recover...

3 caught punts + 2 fumbled punts...

2 to 3 catches on screens or tosses + 1 dropped bomb...

Healthy inactive 2 weeks in a row

And that gets C-????

Sounds more like a F-

Yes so far I agree, but I think he still has talent which we need. That is a really bad stat line

2 (39) Kyler Gordon DB Washington - C Very up and down slow so very limited in man coverage. Going to have to be a zone covering Ace

2 (48) Jaquan Brisker DB Penn State - B+ Good hitting safety, just what Jackson needed

3 (71) Velus Jones WR Tennessee - D- hasn't had a chance to do a lot, but when the chance you do have you blow it...

5 (168) Braxton Jones OT Southern Utah - A- His blocking has been great, but when he is overmatched it's a strength iss, his skill to do what he needs to do is there, but he's going to need a good amount of strength training. All and all has a potential to be a long term gem of a pick

5 (174) Dominique Robinson LB Miami (OH) - B- I don't know how many snaps he gets but I think he is a player to be out there in spots Part of a weak D line so make of it what you will

6 (186) Zachary Thomas OG San Diego State - INC I don't like that a player drafted lower than him makes the roaster for his future.

6 (203) Trestan Ebner RB Baylor - INC I do not like how he has been used when he is in there, Scat back mostly used in inside runs...

6 (207) Doug Kramer C Illinois - INC Injured so meh. His injury maybe while Mumps in on the roaster. He would have seen the field if he was good enough when Patrick got hurt... too bad.

7 (226) Ja'Tyre Carter OG Southern - INC He made the team over other guys drafted so I think there could be something... It will be interesting if the cut Whitehair for more cap space. Because this line, no one's job as a whole should be safe this offseason. This would go for Thomas as well...

7 (254) Elijah Hicks DB California - INC I think his chances to see the field are almost zero because Jackson has turned it back on, as a starter.

7 (255) Trenton Gill P North Carolina State - B+ has had a few bad punts but overall has done his job, sometimes all you can ask for from a punter.

Robinson has played well, just not getting home. He's very active in the run game and has a solid amount of pressures for his snap count. I think he will likely grow into a productive 50% snap player or so.

Jones needs seasoning and strength. May be more suited to RT, but imo looks like a quality starter.

Brisker is easily the best of the group although his eye discipline is very inconsistent.

Gordon has been meh, but CB is tough for rookies and with the awful pass rush makes it even tougher.

Velus has been terrible, no way around that.

Ebner, meh.

Sanborn looks like a keeper, at least a guy who can be counted on to start if needed and potentially a 2 down starter. Very instinctive, good tackler, probably a liability in M2M coverage.

Hard to judge DB’s with no pass rush.

Some people are really easy graders. The title states so far; therefore we are grading on how they have played not their potential.

Preliminary grades are fun, but the real question is at what level these players are performing at in seasons two and three.

To this point the draft class appears to be hit-and-miss, with Brisker and Braxton Jones being the most promising additions thus far...I'm willing to wait on the rest for now.
