Where did those dominant TE’s get drafted?
They were drafted much later than Loveland, but again, I don't think that matters. If Loveland turns into a dominant TE then no one will care where he was drafted.

Are you saying if Kelce and Gronk were drafted in the top 10 and still had the careers they had the teams that drafted them made a huge mistake because they were drafted early?

Incomplete. I don't really follow CFB that much, and have not looked into him. I'll let his play be the determining factor.

Welcome Cam-Skat!

I don't know, I'm now thinking that this regime is going to wait until 72 to pick up an OL. Seems obvious they are going to do that, right?

Kreutz is going to stroke out.

Absolutely not. But TE’s are notoriously mis-drafted in the 1st; more so than any other position

I grade those 2 bulls on the wall behind the couch in his draft video as A++++
I also grade the sturgeon fishing near his home to be A++++

Former players love the pick, NFL people and GM’s had him graded highly, but CCS doesn’t like it. Must really stink! No where was he mocked in the 2nd. He was gone by 14 almost every mock.

I guarantee the same ones whining nonstop about this being a bad pick are the same ones that have been saying they wish the Bears had a great offense for once in their lifetime. Now it's sour grapes because they didn't draft DL or the 4th OT

B. Johnson sounded ecstatic about this player and he knows offense better than any of you. Get over it

What I was talking about before the draft after a month of lead up reading non-stop prognostications and seeing a billion mock drafts saying "this guy will go here." It was always meaningless yet for some reason we continue to make meaning of it year after year.

I get the positional value thing. 10 is high for TE considering there's been a lot of good ones found outside the 1st but this was a weird draft and no one else on the board figured to be an impact starter right away, let alone at 21 years old.

Also for what it's worth, I saw a scouting report that compared Loveland to Darren Waller. I'd take a prime Darren Waller all day long.

I think a lot of people are just tired of the OL, particularly the LT position, being rag dolled every game.

I would have hated Warren personally. I never understood him being projected to the Bears. Why would they want 2 of the same TE’s?
He older than Colston and less athletic.
I didn’t want a TE but at least CL fits with Kmet imo.
Loveland is basically a big receiver who will never be a better than average blocker. Was that their biggest need at 10? Keenan Allen was probably a better blocker than Loveland.

For me? No. For Poles and BJ? I guess so.
He is a very willing blocker from what I have seen. I can’t understand why anyone could say he can’t and never will be a good blocker but to each their own.

Does Rapport tweeting that teams were looking to trade up for Loveland change any of your opinions?
Not really for me. I don’t put much stock into all the mock “experts” anyway. I read them for fun but I don’t take any of them seriously. But I do think he was the best TE for the Bears needs.
Him growing up 80 miles from me is just a bonus 🤪

CCS? I just looked at Twitter and CCS is calm.

I said no matter who they pick it would be good and I still believe that. The pick isn't bad, the priorititties of the GM are what sucks.
By his 4th year this should've been a pick everyone could love except the most die hard defense only people.
Have to wait and see how the rest of the draft goes but so far Poles really sucks at his job.
