The bigger issue for me is how long is Kane gonna keep swallowing shit. He and gus on the PP was magical at times. The PP has gone into this drought after Bovquist took over the top unit.
Panarin, Gus, says he wants to play with Cat and Strome, says he wants to play with Dach, eventually this is going to come to a head dont you think?
I know he cant pick and choose since he electrifies any line he is on, but you gotta think this is getting pretty tiring for the best American player in the league.
Yeah, at time all this board wants is the big names, I call betterans. Never let the kids develop, always some reason to shit on them.

My favorite teams
Keith is getting the majority of the time on the top power play unit, not Boqvist, and the drought coincides with DeBrincat's inability to score. Perhaps Kubalik will be the tonic the PP unit needs, but more than likely it is going to take a new coach to fix this perpetually bad unit.

Hawks or any team for that matter needs least 2 top lines producing. That's why past trades for better or worse has been to get Toews line going. Til that happens the team is always going to struggle.
Looking ahead to next year, Kubalik (has to prove he's not a one year wonder cause he gonna get paid in the offseason), Dach, Cat, Boqvist and Strome need to be the next wave of the core the Hawks can build around. All of these guys need to take the next step in their development. They will also have Ian Mitchell in camp next year who may be the best defenseman on the team when it's all said and done. Mitchell can flat out play.
PP struggled cause Gus and Cat (took a huge step back) stopped scoring....so the coaching staff has to mix things up.
Cat in particular is a one trick pony. He isn't big, not a great defensive forward, doesn't have the afterburner speed..but he's got a great shot. If he's not putting pucks in the net, he's a liability .

Power play just produced when Gus was out there on the first unit. Now we just watch pucks Gus would keep in the zone somehow just getting chased down. I saw alot of Bovquist, Keith was on when Gus was scratched. I wish there were some stats out there. I am sure you are right.
They were convinced they could not keep Gus, they are pretty convinced that they cannot afford strome, so I was surprised he did not get moved, probably be treated like Darling was and be traded the day he turned down a home town deal.
Paying Cat did not work out. Gilbert played well, Carllson played well his one game, I guess we will see Seeler tonight against the blues.
