I think you misinterpreted what I said, lol I liked the self-checkouts.... they removed the self-checkouts from my Jewel and made it a "express lane" that is 15 items or less and feeds to 4 small checkout stations that are usually only 50% manned.

I am stuck either using a long express checkout line or going to regular checkout behind slow people.

I always prefer to bag my own stuff.
You do your shopping regularly at jewel?

Ah okay. I always view Jewel as expensive to me. But I have 6 grocery stores within a 2 mile radius of me. 8 if you want to count Walmart and Target.

Jewel.... expensive? I always saw it as middle of the road.... better than your budget places like Aldi or other small franchises and lesser than Marianos or Whole Foods if ur in to the Whole Foods thing.

No. I have caputos, Valli produce, Aldi, village market, marianos, jewel by me. I've never been to marianos and jewel is always vastly more expensive than the others. Never been to whole foods either.

What kind of sick **** buys pre-made burgers? Is forming ground beef into patties such a struggle?

Some of us are lazy and like gluttony, ok....?

Been contemplating that very issue recently. I never have bought the pre-made, but have 50+ people coming over for a bbq this weekend that I have never met and will never see again (daughter's grad party) so I may resort to that manner of not giving enough fucks to put forth a normal effort.

You'll cook them enough though, right?

I've had the best luck with Pete's Fresh Market. I am still a big fan of Tony's, and it seems like they use the same distributor or maybe parent company, but Pete's does what Tony's does and takes it up a notch in every direction. Caputos is probably my favorite for produce and Nuts.

brett, you live in the area, there's a place called Peter Rubis. Look them up, must visit small produce shop. They have the best sales for at least a fifty miles, but they also don't have the best regular prices.

It's weird how sad it was to see Dominicks go, but a few years after, I think the stores replacing 'most' locations are superior. Mariano's can get expensive, and some of the locations became Whole Foods, which is overall a good place but prices simply aren't that good for the good organics and a good chunk of the market has caught up or exceeded them on quality.

Jewel or as some in the area call it, Jewel's, is only good for those lowly sales that rarely beat out the rest of the competition and convenience if you live near one. Jewel is a rip-off and is going the way of the dinosaurs.

Yeah Peter Rubis is about 4 miles from the house. I've never gotten a sales paper from them so I've never gone in. I'll have to check them out.

I miss Dominick's too.

The Mariano's in Shorewood is decent, but expensive.

The Jewel by me not only has reasonable sales, but their pricing is cheaper than the Walmart on many items that we buy regularly.

Love Caputo's and Michael's as well for fresh produce.

Meijer used to be a great store. Pricing, even sale pricing puts them too high for me.

"fast lane" is right.... I hate that they pulled the self checkouts.... now its "Do I wait in the express line of 12 people waiting for 2 express lanes all of whom have like 20 items and they let it slide.... or do I go wait in a regular checkout line behind people who still write checks in the grocery store?"

I used to be able to put all my groceries for the week in 2 plastic bags.... now the same shit winds up in like 8 bags....

I still write checks brah, to dumb to use a debt card
