Well what a strange signing indeed. Someone is leaving this team at some point. Can't be clogging up the bottom pairing like this without other intentions in mind. I'm smelling Hammer being moved here. If not a package deal.

Didn't see this one coming at all.

The talk all summer was about Hammer being traded and soon we will probably see it happen. I doubt that Montador would be even tradable. The only two possible defensemen to be traded would be Leddy or Hammy but Hammy would no doubt bring a bigger return and just include Kruger and a prospect to get back a decent 2nd line center and a good 3/4 line player.

First off: Welcome aboard.

Second: Getting rid of Montador would be pretty hard considering he has a NTC. But I wouldn't put it past Stan Bowman to place him on waivers and if he passes then just bury him in the minors. I don't want to see Leddy go anywhere, but who knows considering the Hawks are really high on Clendening. Hjalmarsson looks like the first option out.

Interesting...

Except I'd swap Oduya and Leddy in the lineups to begin with.

And yeah, I think Rosival is the Monty Contingency and Hammer is on the block.

I actually thought about Rozsival before the off season but assumed he would be wanting more than a season.

I like this deal as he's good in his own end and plays physical. His one year deal means that Olsen and Clennding get another test in the minors to develop.

To me you don't do this deal right now with the lockout looming unless you already have another deal in the works. Even without Monty you've still got a backlog there with young guys you're trying to bring in. If you don't have something in the works already no you just let other teams know that you have to move someone and the trade value goes down. To me the weirdest part of the whole thing is merely the timing. and the fact that we have even more under the cap now if he's replacing Hammer. Meaning who ever we trade for the price just went up.

YAh I have been pretty impressed by Roszival for what he is and where he is slotted. Im actually weirded out by it. I guess the Rangers are simply just that shitty that anyone who plays there looks like a big pile of Lundqvist.

I think the only thing I got right was swapping Leddy with Oduya on the bottom pair.

I think Rosie's been awesome this year and has helped Leddy's game open up. There are very few times when I cringe when any D-man, much less the bottom pair, is on this ice this year, or worried that Emery/Craford will be bailed on.
