What a battle.

Another win against a top team in the league without Toews and Keith in the lineup.

That is huge.

Hopefully with the playoffs clinched they can take it easier with Toews. Maybe just play him in the Detroit game before the season ends, if he is ready by then.

If we're going to play the 4/5 seed, I'd obv rather have 4th. I'd like to keep 6th though. 4/5 would play the winner of St Louis and 8th. I think playing Vancouver or 7th in the 2nd round would be a better path for the Hawks. Neither of those teams are easy but a match up against a pacific division winner in the first round would be better than either Detroit or Nashville.

All teams are reseeded after 1st round. Top seed gets weakest seed, 2nd top seed gets 2nd weakest seed.

Kings lost to the Wild in the shootout, so the Hawks have now clinched the 6 seed!

I don't think anyone here is going to be thrilled that the Hawks blew a 4-goal lead.

But, once again, they were facing one of the league's best teams without their best forward and their best defenseman. And, once again, they came away with 2 points.

I don't give a **** how it happened, it happened.

Yeah, Toews and Keith out of the lineup.

To make that even for Nashville, you'd take out Weber and who else? Because they don't have a single forward that is anywhere close to Toews. Nobody.

Winning without Toews is something just about everyone said was impossible. Winning without him AND Keith AND doing it against elite teams in the league for a significant stretch of time when regular season hockey is it's most competitive?

It's an incredible feat.

12-5-2 without Toews.

2-1-1 without both.

They may still have some question marks on the ice, but what this has shown what it's made of in the last six weeks. If you're not impressed by those numbers, there's something wrong with you.

Incredible.

Foley was blabbering about the Hawks having the best winning percentage of any team this March... is that true? I'm far too lazy to look it up but I would have sworn Buffalo takes that honor.

Either way...

-Stalberg a 20/20 player.
-Kane playing to his potential and stepping up with the captain out
-Being able to get 30 dependable minutes from a D-man not named Keith (Oduya)
-Winning against elite teams late in the year

I like it a lot.

edit: :hi5: to the two other people that picked the Hawks in this one :fist:
