all good. matthew weiner wrote some of the sopranos' best episodes but I still consider it david chase's creation, that sort of thing

In the end, the person that gets the writing credit is somewhat arbitrary on a show. So many episodes, still have to have a writing staff and all the shit gets run through the head writers in the end.

Weiner = Mad Men, that's his claim to fame and not a bad one to have.

One of the greatest TV shows. Only saw it a few years after it ended, had to binge the whole thing once I started watching. Great acting, characters and great themes and commentary.

I'm into it now. First few episodes seemed like well trodden territory, but by the 4th episode I was hooked. The second season almost lost me as a viewer. Ziggy was a horrible character, and terribly acted. Just didn't give a shit about Frank or Nick. The third season is rocking, and I'm waiting for the return of Brother Mouzone.

If despbro comes back and says the wire sucks, i will perma ignore him.

LOL. I love how you guys have this moronic ideal of me being a bro and that I must have some god awful taste in music, books and film.

Farthest from the truth. Looking forward to getting into the show. Been in a big X-Files kick lately; so I've been busy catching up and enjoying that show all over again.

If some of you have NOT seen the episode 'Home' in the X- Files. Do yourself a favor and watch it. There is a reason it was banned in a few countries. It's crazy!!

I just finished Breaking Bad. Think I'll move on to the Wire next.
Great show. Overhyped and talked about nonstop where I felt like banging my head off the wall afterawhile. But not the shows fault. It's fantastic

I was lucky enough to watch The Shield well after the series finale. So after that ending I was floored. Perhaps the greatest ending in a TV series... Ever.

I truly don't thinka nyone can argue bout that. Show is the GOAT.

How was it overhyped? Many consider it one of the greatest shows ever.

Des is not the brightest fellow, and he doesn't know the meaning of the word overhyped.

"OMG best show ever".

Repeatedly told that. Over and over.

That's overhyped.

Do you not understand that? Sorry.

When you then go on to agree with that statement, you no longer can claim it is overhyped. Do you not understand?

Perhaps. I liked it a lot. Great show! But I wish I waited til the hype wave was over so I could really enjoy without people talking bout it nonstop.

That's partially why I loved the shield. I missed the period when the series aired. When I watched it it was over and man what a ride!!

I never said that.

But it sounds like you're acknowledging the show's greatness. Therefore it doesn't seem to make sense that you're upset that people kept telling you "OMG greatest show ever." It reminds me of all the people that are upset once a small time band goes mainstream. They're mad not that the band is great but that the rest of the world now knows it.
