Yea, no way in hell do they bring Upton in for Jackson. Jackson is shit but BJ is right there with him. I think the Cubs would much rather just DFA Jackson then take on that bs.

It would be pointless to add another RH bat with Soler and Bryant pending.

Upton has $48 M left after this year on his deal. Jackson has $22 M. Having the chance to use Jackson out of the pen is more valuable than having BJ Upton out there

He is a waste of a 25 man spot. Grimm has proven to be able to take over Vill's role. Trade or cut. Him on the team hinders more than helps.

rephrase. there is no value in upton out there and there is no value of jackson coming out of the pen.

I've never heard anything about Jackson being a bad teammate. Upton has been known to cause issues within the clubhouse. Jackson is due $26 M less which is what makes this a no-brainer. If they had the same contract maybe there would be some logic to this. Since Jackson is only due $22 M, I bet the Cubs can find a team to take him on if the Cubs ship over $20 M or so, and they have done that recently so it's no a far fetched idea
