There's a saying that I've heard Michael Wilbon say... that every team needs to go through the heartbreak in order to win the title. Jordan went through it, Kobe needed shaq, Wade needed Shaq, LeBron went through it... and it looks like the Bulls are going through it.

This team will be back next season. A few upgrades must happen though.

They need a very capable 2-way shooting guard.

This need is glaring. Rose needs to work on his mid-range game and stop shooting so many three's. Boozer needs to work on not being a complete liability on defense and shutting up. Deng needs to not play so many minutes.

Korver needs to bring his jumpshot with him when he's out there.

History was always against us in the regard to experience as a team. The same could be said for Miami though (Their individual players have experience, but as a unit they had none). And beyond the talent that is LeBron-Wade-Bosh, their experience outweighed anything the Bulls had. Wade had won a title, LeBron had been to the Finals, while the starter on our team with the most experience was Carlos Boozer who went to the Conference Finals in 2007, pretty much only because Golden State, an 8 seed, beat Dallas in the first round. Deng was next with a second round appearance in 2007. The guy with the most experience on our team was Brian Scalabrine.

The regular season MVP hasn't won a title in years, the coach of the year has been much the same.

Either way, I thought this was our best chance to win it this year. The pending lockout will change the structure of the NBA and the structure of how teams are built. Not to say we wont be back here, but its hard to say what our team will become with a hard salary cap. Rose is up for an extension, but I find no way we can pay Noah, Boozer, Deng, and Rose and keep them all as a core, and at the same time find a starting shooting guard.

The title of this topic is all that is needed to be said regarding this series.

We've been preaching on here about adding a sharpshooting SG since last July. I truly hope this off-season brings us a couple good draftees, smart FA signings & if GarPax feels the need, trades.

Do I think the boys can win another game in this series.....my hopes are very low, but I wont give up on them. No of us will I hope. Slim-to-None odds are stacked against the Bulls, so I thought I'd lighten up & move on with you guys by talking a little early off-season stuff.

Brandon Roy (pre-surgeries) would have been the perfect two-guard to complement Derrick Rose.

And we could've had him while he was healthy instead of freaking Tyrus Thomas. :smh: But the knees thing turned out to be true. Then again if we had a healthy Brandon Roy we never would've gotten Noah.

I know. I just wish they could just magically add a healthy Roy to the team we have now. They would be unstoppable.

Or Rose for that matter.

Michael Wilbon said it again...

Heartbreak comes before Championships in the NBA.... Happened to MJ, Bird, West, Wilt, Isiah, Wade, LeBron...and now it's happening to Rose and Durant.

Or Rose for that matter.

So true. The stars aligned in such a way that we got Rose. And I'll take him over Roy any day. But it'd be nice if we could have both...but that's just being greedy.

Turns out Boozer running his mouth backfired.

Aside from that, I agree with the sentiments of the OP. Only bad thing is the new league agreement. Many think the NBA's deal will be worse (longer) than the NFL's. Unfortunately that hurts teams like Chicago.

Moves made in the offseason will determine just HOW long the heartbreak will last. Miami has to improve some areas and the Bulls need to improve...whoever does the best between the two will probably own the east next year and maybe in the future. I lived through Jordan's heartbreak....those tears in 1991 were for a reason. He wasn't acting...I saw Space Jam...he can't act that well...

I don't think Bosh performs under par because of Boozer...and the Bulls are not good enough to sweep any team with Lebron on it...

I want to say that I dislike this post for the simple fact that, Space Jame has been my all time favorite movie since I was a kid and is now my 2 year old sons favorite movie :D

Like Thibs said if you need any motivation in the playoffs theres something wrong with you

Are you just making stuff up? (below)
The Bulls' coach revealed an alter ego he had managed to hide from even his players, pulling Derrick Rose into his office before the game and giving him the pep talk of all pep talks.

"He gave me a speech about being aggressive, a motivational speech," Rose said. "I love a coach where he's showing emotion, even before the game when it's just me and him talking. … I wanted to get up and yell with him but I kept quiet and tried to take that out on the court."
