Only 6 players will get picked by the fans...so yeah, he probably has no chance to be elected from the fan's vote. I think he'll get in regardless, though.

Considering he has been a centerman nearly the entire year he would have no chance of being picked for the game. Outside chance he could be picked as a left wing though.
Over Datsyuk? I don't think so bud.Considering there's only 2 centerman with more goals and only 4 centerman with more points as it stands now, it would be remiss to exclude him from the roster.

Um you do realize they go for the big time names?
Okay if we are going to use stats rather than play on the ice I would dis-include Sharp all together because he is -11 for the season. I mean you cannot really argue that Sharp deserves to be in the game over one of the best two way players of this decade in Pavel Datsyuk based solely on stats, do you?
Yeah, put in Iginla over Sharp. Please do it NHL, please! Big names only!
I voted for who deserves it.
Stamkos, Crosby, and Richards for the forwards.
Lidstrom and Jack Johnson (write-in) for defense.
Tim Thomas in net.
That is not my argument, because Iginla has been cherry picking the red line the entire season and has not done anything, but guys with fewer points than Sharp have been better on the ice.
Hank Sedin, Pavel Datsyuk, Jonathan Toews, Brad Richards, Ryan Getzlaf, Joe Thornton, Anze Kopitar, and maybe Mikko Koivu all would deserve to represent the West at Center over Sharp.
Sharp is very overrated by most Chicago fans.
If you are arguing Sharp should represent the West at left wing than I have no argument and would agree.
He isn't overrated. The dude is very valuable to this team.
But, not All Star worthy via center.
Most Chicago fans think Patrick Sharp is a top 30 player in the NHL because of the coverage he gets here. Sharpy is a very good versatile player but is not as good as most Chicago fans seem to think.
Then again most Chicago fans couldn't tell you who Tomas Plekanec or other underrated superstars are because most of our fan base are on the band wagon and have been following hockey for two years.
