Except that he did have some really nice KO returns last season, showing his speed and ability could be a weapon. But his speed and size combo is not worth the risk if he can't take care of Hightower's #1 priority ~ successfully fielding the damn ball first and foremost!
He did last season. That said, the muffed kick he had in the pre season sealed it for me. He’s just an accident waiting to happen on punts/kicks. I’m also nervous every time he gets a carry too…but we’ll see what happens. Seems like the staff is determined to give him at least a few carries per game.

Don’t blame the pot!!!

Also, we ready to finally give up on the VJJ project?? (and I’m not singling you out here or anything)
Ha. I'm on the pot right now...and I'm smoking weed too!

I'm not even sure he will hang onto the ball as a RB. how can we trust him anymore? long road to redemption on this one. I'm sure they'll keep trying.

yep, he was a wasted draft pick from the start. they should have cut bait a while ago. ill settle for them cutting bait now still. cant have him fumbling away the season in a season we are actually trying to win

Velus was great for us when we were tanking...ill give him that!

That's the kind of comment that could get him cut. The team was in desperate need of a spark at the time and he gets "lackadaisical" by kicking the ball up field to the other team. I've defended Velus more than most but come on man, say ANYTHING else.

How many fast and tall guys are out of the league right now?

He also hasnt done shit yet with the new kick returns besides turn the ball over. Carter looked much better than him and is reliable.

I dont even understand him at RB. He runs upright like he's a WR(cause he is) - You are just asking him to get destroyed by a linebacker and fumble.
They dont really run him up the middle, just the edges. It will happen eventually due to his pad level, either he fumbles or gets hurt if they keep giving him reps at RB.

Keep the jet sweep plays to Odunze/Moore. Let a real RB like herbert run the ball.

He will 100% fumble sooner than later

So a guy with a history of fumbling kicks, who knows this is critical to his existence in the NFL, who knows everyone is holding their breath every time a kick goes to him, is stupid enough to say he is “lackadaisical“ on kicks to him and is actually not focused? This could go in the dictionary next to the definition of dumbass.
