Everyone has to agree on some things :D

Yeah its all perception based on team result.

Cubs suck.. Dump the guy he's a dog.

Cubs win.. He's integral to the success..

Can't have it both ways folks. He's a solid contributor. Plenty of other players have been "dogs" or not hustlers.. whatever and they were good enough to have rings.

All we should care about.

I don't want a guy that hustles and doesn't hit worth a shit cause otherwise that's what the 3B market is now.

I'll take my production from Rami till either Vitters is ready or there's another replacement.

i never said that ramirez is a bad player by any stretch

and he probably is the best player on this team right now(but that's more of a testament to the cubs team right now than him...i think castro once he starts hitting for a little more power and polishes his defense will easily be the best player)

that said, i dont think he is a good defender by any stretch or shows really great effort on D..thats my knock on him

would i trade him for another 3B..there's a couple out there i would...

i wouldnt say ramirez is a major reason for the cubs being not very good this year(although, our recent success is promising)

that doesnt mean im not disappointed in his defensive efforts tho

Yeah, he said trade Matt Cain and Madison Bumgardner for Sean Marshall and Starlin Castro.

I would actually do that. Getting 2 young SP that could be in rotation for next 10 years. top of rotation starters harder to find then SS

He had 114 and 104 sOPS+'s respectively for the months of April and May. That means his OPS was above average for the position. That's pretty good.

now the AL 3B is a little better than the NL 3B...but that doesnt mean that being a little above average is anything astounding

anywho, this isnt about if ramirez can still hit for power..he can...he usually can produce ok on offense

the issue is his laziness and overall just not being a very prominent defender

Are you being serious? A SS that has the potential that Starlin has, leading the NL in hits in his second year and he is going to be traded for 2 SP that could break down at any moment? Peopel really need to think b4 they post, just plain idiotic.

I believe pitching wins. So if i was GM that be first thing i try to build. I understand Castro is a stud SS and i wouldnt deal him for much but if i got 2 front of rotation SP i would have to think about it hard. As for those guys breaking down, Castro could also break down anytime.

i dont think its a TERRIBLE trade considering the cubs can use some help pitching wise(especially with zambrano gone...no i dont think he's a great pitcher anymore..but overall he's better than what we have save demp and garza)

but castro is going to be special imo..like possible NL MVP

his defense is still improving and soon he'll be hitting with some power(he already is a little but im talking like double digit HRs)

i think he be double digits this year. I also see him hitting 20-25 HR a year in the next 4-5 years

I think it is funny that you guys think that a guy can suddenly decide that he is going to start playing to get his numbers. If he was solely motivated by his contract why wasn't he trying in April and May? He would be on pace for a 40+ HR season if he was hitting homeruns, and you don't think he would get a lot more money if he did that.

Agreed. Baseball is a VERY streaky game. Guys seem to always get around there career numbers.
