There is something about this article that I really don't like. None of the theories were present during the first part years of the chart. The NBA 3 point line did not come in until 79/80. If the data was actually started from that point I am not sure we see that same type of reduction. I think that line may be a lot straigher.
Why would someone use a range outside the influence of their theories?
Well I completely believe that all 3 of their theories have an affect on the NBA I am not sure that this "report" is very well thought out. I would really like to see just the raw data for this. I am too lazy to grab it all myself.
I wonder what would happen if you actually picked starting dates for these theories and checked them against the actual home win totals.
