The injury to Campbell put a big crimp in to the team's flexibility. Look at the ice times logged for last game, and you will see that Keith was on the ice for half the game, but I suppose a more interesting stat is that Boynton was on the ice for 20 minutes and 46 seconds.

Boynton was supposed to be a bottom pairing guy, yet they have to play him more - which basically goes towards speaking to the lack of depth of this team (which, there wasn't many ways around).

Scott-= you know for my money got about as many minutes as I would have expected, but I think really the problem is with the 4th line -that being, they don't appear to be much in the way of a checking line -and are more of another scoring line (with a lot of inexperience on it). I don't have a problem with any of the guys on that line, per se -but you'd expect a more traditional 4th line to be made up of checking heavy guys that are there to eat minutes ( -I would have figured a guy like Scott -who, make zero mistake about it, was signed for his fists, would be on it -). Instead I see he even got over 2 minutes of ice time while short-handed ... a guy like him on your team is generally going to be why you are short--handed as opposed to killing penalties.

I can only think that he is there right now because he is cheap. But he shouldn't be getting played in situations where the equivalent of tripping on the blue line is going to create an odd-man breakaway - ever.

4th line may not appear as much of a typical 4th line right now based on how out-of-sync the other lines are looking (granted, I didn't watch tonight's Buf game).
