If it happens can you promise me that @Anytime23 posts a thread about it?
I was more intrugued by the part where it said he did not leave the scene until he was told he could to be honest. All because the state does not to charge you, does not mean that you were innocent. It likely means they do not have sufficient evidence to convict you. That's it. The state will choose to settle to conserve resources and pin you down with something
Also, hthe judicial system is severely broken in our country. Alot of bad actors. Plus, we all know celebrities and athletes get special treatment and they more than usually end up with lighter sentences.
Truth likeky is that if Carter wasn't recklessly speeding and illegally racing his friends, then they likely would not have been speeding either. It takes two to Tango. Can you prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. No. Is there a 99% chance it contributed, yes.
Wasn't he like a third alternate or something? IIRC, he had about the worst ever pro-bowl performance.Pro-Bowl

Mel Kiper Jr. Mock 3.0
Pick 6: DT Jalen Carter, Georgia
In Kiper’s scenario, four quarterbacks are taken in the first five picks, with Will Anderson being the sole non-QB pick. That gave Kiper the option to take Carter—who wasn’t available in Jeremiah’s mock—and the ESPN draft guru jumped at the opportunity.
Obviously, there are now serious character concerns about Carter, because otherwise this would a slam-dunk pick. The legal proceedings are now a thing of the past, as Carter pled “no contest” to reckless driving and racing charges, resulting in 12 months probation, 80 hours of community service, and a $1,000 fine. Additionally, Carter’s attorney, Kim Stephens, put out a public statement to debunk some previously reported details about Carter’s involvement in the incident. Per Stephens, Carter did not leave the scene until an officer told him he could, and Carter was not responsible for the accident himself.

There's body cam footage of the officer that pulled him over for doing 89 in a 45 a month prior to the accident and the officer tells him "you and your teammates gotta slow down man this is an arrestable offense but I'm going to let you off with just a ticket because this would be big news in the media" That's not verbatim but it's close, you can find the video if you want to hear exactly how he phrases it.All because the state does not to charge you, does not mean that you were innocent. I believe you are coming from a good place. But having done this for a long long time in both IL and GA, you are way off base and it indicates you’ve never been involved in criminal investigations from start to finish. All because the state does not to charge you, does not mean that you were innocent. In the speeding case he did. Not in this one. There's body cam footage of the officer that pulled him over for doing 89 in a 45 a month prior to the accident and the officer tells him "you and your teammates gotta slow down man this is an arrestable offense but I'm going to let you off with just a ticket because this would be big news in the media" That's not verbatim but it's close, you can find the video if you want to hear exactly how he phrases it.
Definitely got preferential treatment because of who he is.

Do people only speed when racing? Carter was caught speeding by himself before so have many of the Georgia players.
The facts are a grown ass woman on the football staff chose to drink and drive. Carter apparently was sober. That is likely the real reason she crashed and he didnt. Drunk drivers crash all the time and drunk drivers speed whether they are racing someone or not.
The problem here was she was drunk. Period. Dont drink and drive! In the absence of Carter, this drunk driver most likely still speeds and still crashes because that is what drunk drivers do. As a staff member she should have known better ans blaming Carter for her being drunk is silly particularly when he apparently refrained from drinking.
