update on Torres

There’s still no ruling for Raffi Torres appeal of his 25-game suspension according to the Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette. Torres is being punished for his hit to the head of Chicago’s Marian Hossa during the opening round of the playoffs. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman met with Torres a week ago to discuss the appeal. “I have not heard anything, nothing at all,” Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney said. “Actually I talked to Raffi on Thursday and that was the first time I heard anything about the hearing at all. So I don’t know. I have no idea of timing.”

Although you probably said this in jest - where I had worked, an appeal meant reopening a case -so that an appeal could actually do what you just wrote Jntg4 ... of course I have no idea if that is how the NHL operates.

Bowman stated today that Hossa is doing much better.

The cynic in me is thinking it's wag the dog.

We'll see come fall.

Stan Bowman at his press conference today said that both Hossa and Montador are on the mend and are beginning their offseason workouts.

Good news that they are working out
