that is your rebuttle?

you are cherry picking what you want to use to compare players and making false statements that it is apples to apples because of location, and position.

way to overlook the players value comparison.....again apples to oranges

stop the non sense.

Oh.

So the Blackhawks didn't directly compare the value of Marian Hossa and Martin Havlat following the 2009 off season? And comparing the clearest and most discussed hockey forward statistics along with salary and health is now cherry picking hockey stats?

No.

... because Hossa replaced Havlat on the depth chart at the same position on the same team. Apples being apples.

However Havlat is a Czech, right? Hossa is a Slovak...

Apples being Oranges.

You answered your own question as far as I'm concerned. ;)

Despite DewsSox swearing that you absolutely can't compare these two guys, I wanted to look at their numbers to see how they've both panned out under their current contracts. I'm pretty positive that the Blackhawks compared them when considering who to sign.

Continue those numbers through the next season and a half and someone could say that maybe Havlat has gotten over his streak of injuries and matured physically while all of Hossa's hard play has finally caught up to him and he's on the decline. Like I've said... I think it's interesting. Certainly more so than trade rumors.

I imagine you saw the "I'll play a little" ;)

wow, way to misunderstand everything I have said.

YES. The blackhawks compared the two players values I am sure. But when we discuss actual player value, They arent apples to apples. period. you are comparing apples to oranges as one players value HOSSA>>>>>>>>Havlat by a wide margain.

Havlat has no business being compared with Hossa. To me its obvious there is something wrong with Hoss. No way he struggles like this if not. Just not possible.

There is if he has no more motivation, he won his cup realizes the team isnt as good as last year and is getting paid? just a thought. And i still hate the guy, one thing is for sure i wont be losing our bet this year.

His hook nose, no loyalty having, douchy red hair growing, bones made of glass, *** tinted visor wearing, POS he is. Former Red Wing/Pen might as well have played for the canucks douchy *****. That clear it up?

Well he appears to be pretty loyal to Chicago..... Ya know... With a long term contract and all. You should take that as a complement and a slap in the face to Detroit.

Havlat- 128
Hossa- 96

Points:

Havlat- 102
Hossa- 81

People thought Hossa would destroy Havvy in GP but nope.

I like how you leave out the cup run to make your argument work...LOL

Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem to me that he's actually making an argument. Those playoff games he was a defensive forward specialist. Granted, it turned out well and as I asked before, I do think he was necessary for the cup run, but we really could have used more offensive output from him.

What is interesting is to what extent the organization knew the damage was to Hossa's shoulder.

In the span u listed.

Havlat: .79 pts per game
Hossa: .84

I know your point is that Hvlat has been more durable but Hoss has been more productive and he hasn't been healthy for much of his tenure IMO

Look at GP Joe. If I am an owner or a GM, Im going with the 2nd choice all day long.

I love your logic, looking at recent sample sizes. another 1000 times

Yeah great point ... and I am sure that the idea was for much more offensive output from Hossa- and I do agree with others, he has to be hurt or something else has gone on.

Preface: I believe 100% that Hossa is a better hockey player than Havlat.

But ........

I'd like to throw some defense in Havlat's corner. First, with the exception of his last few seasons in Chicago, Havlat was the whole Hawks offense. He was the lone playmaker on some very, very bad teams.

Also, in the 2009 playoffs, Havlat was often on a line with Bolland and Ladd that became the Hawks #1 checking line. He faced Iginla in the first round and helped shut down the Sedins in the second round. Havlat's defense was much improved before he left town.

Still, Hossa was and is better. It really sucked when Havlat got hurt his first few years, he was the only guy worth watching. Hossa just got to have tons of talent around him at all times. Havlat didn't have that benefit.
