* No D&D!!
*GRRM is signed on as a producer
*Based on “Fire and Blood”
*Should be ready for premier next April.

Will this show be mega-thread worthy like GOT (minus the last two seasons)?

I’ll be suckered in as well.

Just as a side note I just watched the first episode of Foundation on appletv+. That show seems to be legit good. The first episode sucked me right in. I’m hoping it’s the GOT of sci-fi.

Last season sucked balls but imo its still the best series of all time.

I will watch, whether i like it or not. Kind of like the Bears.

Same but I’m thinking it’ll be pretty good. I believe (and I could be wrong) that this series of books are done. Also, GGR should be more involved in this series.

I'll watch. There is a dearth of decent shows in the world, so I can put up with something mediocre until something better comes along if necessary.

Something really solid I don't recall being mentioned around here: Raised by Wolves. Fucking weird sci fi action/drama.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
I was a skeptic and still am but the first episode was pretty good. I think there was foreshadowing of the Blackfyre rebellion, or at very least hinting about Blackfyres. Very well done first episode.

I wish I could, I need a new show, but I just can't with more GoT.

I'm betting it gets annoyingly woke by the end of episode 2.

I don't blame you. I didn't have an issue with the 8th season's ending. I had an issue with the pacing. GOT was great because of the journey not necessarily the end result. That's not to say the end result was not great it was but it was always the journey that got us to a point that made things great. Like the HODOR moment. That took years to set up. Contrast that with the 8 season build up of "winter" and it's over in one episode. Also, the death of the 2nd dragon. While yes it was shocking, and shocking moments were great on GOT but again it was events leading up to those shocking moments that made them so great. "Fire and Blood" is already written however it is largely a history book and not nearly as detailed as his previous books. There is a ton of room for them to screw this up much like the previous series. Supposedly it was D&D that forced the show's ending by setting the 100 episode timeframe. Gladly they are not involved and hopefully HBO has learned from this.

Yeah I didn't strictly hate the major plot points of the overall ending, but it certainly felt like RR Martin probably had a few thousand pages of manuscript left to write in order to finish the ASOIAF story, and they crammed a 3-4 hour session where he riffed on how he intended to wrap it up, into 13 episodes over 2 final seasons.

None of the big moments felt setup or justified, it just felt like stuff happening for shock value.

I may treat all of the spinoffs like I did Breaking Bad and now Better Call Saul.

If they make it to a series finale that people enjoy, I will watch the series.

I found Breaking Bad interesting but often tedious, and I'm betting Better Call Saul is the same.

I just wish I had a good zombie show to watch :(
