Bartman ftw
Friday's game featuring Zambrano against Peavy should be a classic. Big Z looks as if he's shed the 'ole bullpen rust and Peavy is hot as a cast iron skillet. Let's just hope his shoulder doesn't fall off in the fifth inning.
On paper the South Siders had one of the best rotations in the league heading into 2010, and I'm starting to think just maybe they needed a couple months to get into a grove. They've been lights out these past couple week and sure some of those games came against, ahem, weak National league opponents but a win's a win, right?
I don't know what Vegas has in mind for Friday, but something tells me that both pitchers show up with something fierce in their back pockets, and it will be a low-scoring affair.
One example of the groove would be Floyd allowing just 3ER in his last four starts. Another would be Danks going 3-0 his last three trips to the mound. Peavy has posted back-to-back wins, Buehrle is 3-0 in his last three starts and Five Finger Freddy is 8-1 in his last nine outings. Sean my boy, this is the groove I speak of.
I mearly hinted that maybe the rotation on the South Side needed some time to get into mid-season form, and what I am seeing now is nothing short of spectacular from them.
I think they're going to put a whooping on the Cubs this weekend, and have an outside shot at leading the AL central come Monday morning.
Against the Cubs it's always a battle, but I'm on your side friend. Go Sox.
southside sweep????
I hope so. I love it when we sweep the Cubs. I always give my friends who are Cubs fans a hard time.
11 straight!!!!!! What now cubs fans?!
