Yesterday on PTI, Bill Simmons said that while he had Stern on his talk show, Stern said that the one idea that keeps getting brought up between the owners and the players is contraction and that neither side is totally against the idea.

how do you guys feel about it? And which teams do you think will be affected by it if it does happen?

I don't think it would be a bad thing. Certain teams just don't draw well at all, even when they win.

Sacramento and New Orleans would be the first two that come to mind. Also Orlando, New Jersey and possibly the Clippers.

Exactly..
Let the other teams rot in there own filth...There are too many garbage teams anyway...
Either way, The Bulls will always be a frachise..The Bulls will be the first team that any free agent would love to play on..Maybe other stars will be demanding to be traded to the Bulls..
Bottom line, no matter what happens, the Bulls will remain a top seed, that is unless PaxGar fail to improve at the 2guard position:beer:...That's my biggest concern anyway..

I say leave it the way it is. Don't get rid of any teams and no more expansion teams.

If you really have to get rid of any teams then I would say Toronto and Minnesota.

I would also throw in a bonus by loading all of Miami's players on a rocket and sending them to the sun. I'm sure their late arriving, phony, bandwagon fans would never even notice they were gone.

But if the Bulls don't go anywhere then how are we suppose to revisit the fantastic idea of the Dixmoor Grizzlies?

That open lot is still there on 147th & Wood street by Arnies...Maybe we can still have 2 teams in Chitown like L.A ....Dixmoor Timberwolves or Dixmoor Rapters????:smoke:

Believe it or not, those great teams people talk about from the past? There would be a better chance of creating those teams. I am all for it. Contract 6 teams and move playoff teams from 16-12...and you would do well in my opinion.

Well, if as many teams are struggling as have been stated...shutting down 1/5 of the league isn't such a bad thing to me...

well there are other ways for teams to not lose so much money.. like if they changed it so that players don't make as much and other adjustments.

If they can't figure out a way for owners to make more money or not lose as much, then I guess contraction would be the only option left.. but maybe only contract like 2-4 teams.
