How good does Trubisky have to be?

If the QB situations were the same on each team but the rest of the team remained the same, the Bears would be a better team than the Packers. If the Packers were to lose Aaron in the preseason, they'd probably end up with one or two wins (assuming they didn't trade for a QB).

Is Matt Flynn a FA again? They did pretty good with him when Rodgers went out, I wouldn't automatically count them out. They have a QB friendly system, but yes they would be mortal at least.

1. For Bears to win?
2. For you to be happy with the trade?
3. For (fill in some interesting thought).

1. Don't turn the ball over, minimize 3 and outs.
2. Top 10 QB for at least 3 years in a row.
3. Pace's words; he did this to be great. Let's not forget this, if Trubisky isn't great this was not the right move.

Get us to the playoffs 7 times.

Win at least 7 playoff games.

One NFC title game....win, lose, or draw.

1. Ortman
2. Don't care about the trade, it is what it is and it's over. Now the pick, I expect a respected/feared QB. Like I really only tried to watch 85 games if McMahon was playing. Like nobody ever heads into a Packers game with Rodgers thinking it's going to be easy.
3. OMG! You pervert! How could you ask such a disgusting thing?

If he produces like Cutler but with half the interceptions then it's a win in my book. Shit I might settle for just 2/3rds of the interceptions.

I was going to say Cutler with half a mind to stop making the same mistakes would win.
Grossman without the mental case would win.

I don't know if I'd say those are our franchise QB we could stop looking with but they could win.

The answer to all three questions is winning a Super Bowl, and playing well enough that the team is a threat to win it every year.

How well do you think they did when Rodgers went down? And I would argue that was an even more talented team. How exactly do you think a team like that, with no running game or defense (and they just lost their best defensive player) succeeds without their signal caller?

Win games and not lose them due to his play (turnovers). In the discussion for a Pro Bowl or three. 2nd pick In the draft, I expect a fair amount of success.

Pro Bowl should be the least of the worries. I want him year in and year out playing at a level that allows the Bears to compete for a Super Bowl every. single. year.

I don't care if he makes a single pro bowl. Throw the ball in the end zone and win games. Everything else isn't a worry.

Trubisky needs to be a consistently top 10 QB for both of your questions. Hopefully top 5 at his peak.

Expectations are that the QB leading this team is good enough to carry this team to the playoffs every year with a decent group of players surrounding him and that he's good enough to win a SB with and that he would not by any means be holding the team back but helping to lift the team up and help take the Bears to the promised land. If the guy doesn't fit that description, it's simply a waste of time.

The last several seasons have felt like a lost opportunity to me when it came to QB play. Jay Cutler and all them other guys were not the answer and it was blatantly obvious. It was so frustrating. All that time I wanted a good prospect there for them to go to when Cutler got injured. It felt like a lost opportunity to me that they didn't have a Trubisky type guy on the bench being groomed and ready to step into the game when called upon. Instead we had guys like Hoyer and Barkley, so in regards to the QB situation on this team right now I haven't been more excited to see that they are actually going about things the right way going forward.

One more thing is we need to be rooting for Glennon to be successful because one way or another that's going to ultimately benefit this team. He could be our permanent fix at QB, if he proves to be that good. We could go into the 2018 season with a QB competition between Glennon and Trubisky. Healthy competition will be good for both QBs and be good for this team, but I'm not sure we keep 16 mil sitting on the bench backing up Trubisky, so that could be a pretty good draft pick we could get for Glennon if he produces well in 2017.

To be justified with the trade and being taken at No. 2, he's got to be starting by the beginning of next season and a top 10 quarterback by the end of his fourth year.

Seriously, if you're the No. 2 pick, you have to be a top 10 QB within a few years. You don't take a QB that high if you're expectations of them are middle of the pack or slightly above average.

I, personally, need to orgasm after every one of his throws or he is a bust.

Interesting answers.

Some people have very low standards / expectations. Others, very high, to the point of being unfair and focusing on the wrong things (QB rankings vs team success.)

Several say he needs to be "Top 5" to justify being picked at #2, forgetting that in the past three drafts alone, 5 QB's have gone #2 or higher.

It would shock me if he started in day 1. As IMHO, if Glennon flops, Mitch could be. But for this year, he will learn under Mike G. Glennon could start in week 1. But in grooming him he could be in the top 5. And hopefully grooming him rightfully.

It amazes me that for a few years there, the Bears had pro-bowlers at nearly every skill position (WR, WR, DE, RB, TE) and still couldn't do anything with it.

Trubisky has already brought hope to millions of Bears fans beat down by 8 years of Jay.

He is a success.

We're set for the next 3 years.
