I'm not talking non-alcoholic concoctions from the bar. I'm talking about sodas, teas (hot n cold), coffee, lemonade, ginger ale, etc. How much are you paying at your local restaurants? Do you even care or pay attention?

We have charged $2.99 for the past 3-4 years. I'm thinking of going to $3.29 or even $3.49. After some of you post your thoughts/results, I will tell you how many we sold in 2014.

TIA!

What's a N/A beverage? Like...people actually go to restaurants and drink things that won't dull the pain of having to spend time with whomever they're eating with? Sounds like bullshit to me.

I rarely look at soda prices when we eat out but it would depend on where I was eating. 3 bucks at a pizza joint, without free refills, seems to be hitting the limit for me and if I saw more on my bill I wouldn't order soda again there.

Unless I am hurting for money I really don't pay attention to the prices. That is unless I am at some place that has Special person prices you can't help but notice. Like say, the auto show or Soldier Field.

Thanks for the responses. After calling some restaurants in the area with comparable ppa, we're about mid range. We sold 22,487 n/a bevs in 2014. Raising the price to $3.49 will in theory add over 11k. Busier so far in 2015.

And ours are of course refillable.

I can't believe you run a restaurant that sells soda. It's basically poison and you want to charge people more for it now? I always thought you to have higher morals/ethics than this. Rats won't even eat HFCS. See you in hell Deep Chicago.

I cannot argue the point, but making those decisions for people is basically poison to your business.

Don't order soda too much, but when I do it's pretty much the same for me. I normally don't even look at the price, I just assume it's not going to be something egregious. As long as there are free refills I don't even think about it. And honestly I usually don't even check the bill to see if they charged me for refills or not.

Also, DC - you should order some shirts from me for your staff :)

I always get coke (or I sigh and get mountain dew if they have pepsi products) from sit down restaurants. It probably averages $2 - $3

It sounds silly but 3.29 wouldn't make me think twice but 3.49 sounds worse lol

"three fifty for your watered down coke!"

That said, i'd still buy it. I love the poison

I will generally get a soda regardless of the ridiculous price, but if it's over $3 I might reconsider depending on the kind of restaurant it is. If it's one of those fancy ones, I might just stomach it grudgingly.

Or if I want to be healthy or something I'll just get water regardless. $3.49 is mad expensive for soda. Heck, $2 is expensive, but you guys gotta make your profits so...

Yeah, $3.49 seems a bit excessive for a soda, even if it's refillable but I guess I haven't checked too much when I order at a restaurant.

Go to a Brazillian BBQ and there are no free refills.

When I used to drink pop, I had my usual dozen or so drinks. My bill was double because I was charged for each coke. $100 for dinner of which half was soda. Killer.

Coming up on my one year of stopping pop for water the last day in August.

Goodness pop and Brazilian BBQ? The bloat! At places like that I always just get water lol. Especially if there's no free refills...ouch.

Congrats on that year though. Lifestyle change ftw!
