Some posts in another thread created some curiosity. It's anonymous of course, so don't lie. But if you wanna share in the thread, then go ahead.

*Wait for the poll.

Before taxes, etc.

I think it's a good thing to bring up though. I'd wager that while I make what many would call a decent "middle class" wage, that my savings at the end of a calendar year are less than what someone of my calibre in one of those oppressive socialist countries has, even with their "60% income tax."

I know there are factors that play into it and that how much money you make =/= how much more/less money you'll actually have. My friend's dad has a salary of ~120,000 a year, but he lives like someone who has a salary of 40-50k a year because he has 5 kids and one of them has had medical issues his entire life.. so medical expenses got pretty high. Although now that his kids have gotten older and moved out, that 120k is starting to really show.

Is this combined income like with a spouse... or just how much we make?

Guessing you yourself as most combined incomes would probably hover around that upper range in the poll. But what do I know...

70-80k. My wife makes more than 2x what I do, but has the student loans to prove it. We're both very fortunate to have careers we actually love.

Can I include my tax-free income from looting liquor stores, drug stores, and appliance stores?

There should be an additional poll asking what your expenses are or what your mortgage payment is (per month).
Chicago area real estate prices are still high after the crash and stagnant recovery.
I make decent coin, but my school loans are another mortgage.

honestly we'd need something that states age, money, education, location.

More than I need and less than I'd like. That might make me a bad person.

I was lucky enough to grow up in a country where higher education is free. I have a very above average standard of education and not a dime of student debt. For that, I'm grateful.

I have never been one of these people that said growing up in my time was harder than it is now

Truth is I feel it is so much harder now than in the 60s and 70s'. Back then there was a job for everyone that wanted a job. I paid every dime of my education cause I had part time work that paid $10/hr in the early 70s. Zero student debt. Paid off my mortgage 20 years ago on a 5000 sqft house. Paid every dime of my daughters high school and college education and a $30k wedding

Point is that I'm not sure that people can do that now. I feel bad for some of you nitwits. But not all of you

I hope a bouncy house and hand job were included (not from your daughter of course).

I make enough and my wife makes more. Kids are out of the house and their student loans paid. Plus something very nice came our way this year. Life is good.
