I actually had it before when I moved into the current home. It was pretty great, but then again that was 5+ years ago

The problem down here is that there are a series of small towns, and you pay Angies list by your town..If you're looking at a roofer that lives in the next town over, he will not be included on the list unless you pay an additional fee to include his town...There are maybe 20 small towns here, so to subscribe for all those small towns can get really expensive. The town I live in is 5000 people so there are not many contractors that live in my town. We are forced to use contractors from the other towns. Maybe in a large city the list would work well, but down here, it doesn't

Roofing isn't cheap...next time I need one, I'm gonna go steel panels. We get high winds here in the mts. and the steel roofs hold up better.

I was considering a steel 'cool roof' type of instal when I did my basic solar setup. Metal roofing is highly under-rated in IL, which is sad, because a galvanized roof will last 40+ years. If you have the slated roof, metal is the way to go.

We just had our roof re-done a couple of years ago. It's about 1000 sq ft and ran us somewhere between 5K and 6K. Don't remember the exact number now. That also included the stuff they put under the shingles to prevent ice dams.

I wonder with new homes (2003) if that isn't already part of it

It comes in some nice colors as well..It's very popular here in the mts.
