Found this to be interesting... let you know where you stand as far as income level. Granted this is only one aspect since income is only a piece of worth. I imagine most people are better off than they think. I was surprised at my number.

Question? What do you think the standard for middle class is? 30-70%... 20-80%... something else.

94%

Only 5% away from owning a fleet of mega-yachts long enough to land any of my g6's on.

Eh... that's a poor indicator of wealth. You can have a high salary, but if you also have a large family plus other expenses (medical bills, etc.), you probably wouldn't be too wealthy.

Plus, the true measurement of wealth is not how much money you have, but how much you give to others (church), as well as enjoying the love and company of your friends and family.

I agree as I stated this is simply one aspect of wealth.

Money or income is not an indicator of how rich you are. Some of the biggest assholes I've ever met were full of money but had nothing else, it's kinda sad that people measure up with their money.

Money doesn't buy happiness, actually it usually just buys more problems.

I'd take that a step further and add that those "other expenses" also include the cost of living in the area one inhabits. Certainly SoCal is ridiculous. $500,000 in California money isn't as impressive as say someone earning that salary in Central Illinois, which would be different than Kentucky Appalachia, etc.

Money hides sins. Having money reduces a major stress, which is paying the bills...provided the money is spent wisely.

Agree... My topic was poorly worded. This site simply says what percent of earner you are. Has nothing to do with what kind of person you are.

The biggest problem we have as a society is paper money, humans are obssessded with money. Let's get rid of money and start doing things that help each other out as a society and stop dividing the them by how much money they have. It's bothersome that people with money think they are more important than people with less money, it's outright disgusting, IMO.

If negs were still available, I'd use one on your post.

Ok?! Money is just money bro. I've been on both sides of the fence so it's not as if I'm speaking out of experience. But I guess you think money is important, I absolutely don't.

I have a great marriage, 3 successful daughters, 2 Grandkids, a nice house in the country and a really smart dog. Throw in the money and life is pretty damn good.

Meh, I'll leave dogma out of this since IMHO it causes most of the problems with the world today.

Personally, I think that money is not the end-all-beat-all. If you work yourself into the ground just to be able to keep up with the Joneses, what kind of life is that?

Conversely though, it's not my deal to say whether what someone wants out of life is right or wrong. If someone wants the bigass house and is perfectly fine doing nothing but taking care of it, hey, more power to them. If someone is like me and foregoes the bigass house and instead spends their money traipsing across the world more power to them.

I guess you can say I think "richness" is contentment. If you can find a balance in earning enough for you and your own to have the life you want, but you don't have to work your ass into the ground to do so, you're doing pretty well, and that's a sliding scale. I know there are people pulling down 7 figures that cannot reach that balance of contentment, meanwhile I've seen people pulling in around 30k that can.

That isn't why I would dislike your post. You have grossly generalized the attitudes people with money have.

Edit: removed unintentional harshness.

That's your definition, your only. Others may agree or disagree. It is hardly a standard for all.

Whilst I respect your traditional values, my relationship with Jesus is trumped by my net equity. Then again, my relationship with Christ is also trumped by a good bowl of Poke for lunch today.

I have been contemplating wealth and how it should be handle at the end of a man's life. That'a all I will say about that
