The Bulls have young players with value? Who would that be? The Euro kid has done nothing in the NBA and no one else on the Bulls that is young has much value at all.

Gibson is not a centerpiece of a trade for Love.

You have got to be kidding me. Gibson has good value. This year he has really elevated his game to be a scorer as well as one of the best defensive and rebounding PFs in the game. If he came out in this years draft, Mirotic would be a top four pick. Ask Lebron if Butler doesn't have value. 14th pick in a rich draft. 18th or 19h pick in a rich draft? Future Sacramento number one pick in a draft? That isn't a very rich treasure trove of young talent?

You really undervalue what the Bulls have stockpiled in young talent.

This is the Twolves, they aren't exactly the best ran organization out there. I'm not implying that they would take the offer, I just said I read that they will be putting a package together in order to get him, which is smart. Kobe isn't getting younger and the sooner they get help in, the better.

I just do not see what assets that the Lakers have that Minnesota would want is all.Look, Love wants out of Minnesota. He arguably is the best big man scorer in the NBA right now. So to get him, the Wolves are not going to take a 6th or so draft pick and someone like Gasol in return to give him up. If they did, their GM should be shot. And what is a future number one Lakers pick worth?

You also mention the Knicks as somewhere that Love would want to go. How? The Knicks have absolutely no talent to give them in return.

Realistically the Wolves should possibly look to teams like Houston, Bobcats and other second level teams trying to add a star to their team in order to move up in the pecking order.. Kevin Love wanting to go to a major city isn't going to happen unless it is with the Bulls.

Gibson is 28, so he is not young. He is not on a cheap contract either. His contract is not bad, but it is not team friendly. The Euro kid has no contract value in a trade until he i signed and once he is signed the Bulls cannot move for a few months. Moreover; he has never played one second in the NBA so let's not lose our mind with his value.

Why would the Timberwolves want Butler. They have Brewer, who is basically the same kind of player and Brewer is signed for a few more years. Plus Butler is going to be a FA. Butler is not going to have a lot of value. He is probably going to get a ~4.5 deal, unless he takes huge steps forward. His career FG is 427 and his 3pt is 313. He is averaging 12 points and 1.5 steals per 36 minutes. I don't think there is another coach in the league that would play Butler 30 minutes a game.

Some Bulls fans way overrate Butlers value. He seems like a great kid and works his ass off, but most NBA teams want a guy who can shoot on the wing. Tony Allen and Thablo are not highly sought after players.

If Kevin Love tells them he wants to go to the Lakers, that's where he'll go. There won't be a team that will offer up a lot for a 1 year rental. If it really is between the Bulls, Lakers, and Knicks then yeah we have the best chance because we have the best assets. From everything I've heard and read though, he wants to go to the Lakers. We'll see what happens this summer.

The Bulls are pretty much done at this point. They have allowed too many contracts to walk away to make trades and they have a few players making to much to bring in a near Max guy. The reality is the reality. I know fans don't want to believe it, but Bulls are in cap hell right now. They really have to pray they get stud in the draft or the Euro kid is a beast, or someone on their team takes a huge step forward.

The bold portion is unequivocally wrong. The Bulls have positioned themselves to have a good deal of cap space this offseason (depending on what it's set at we're looking at around $10mil free and potentially more if Boozer is amnestied). They are in anything but cap hell. Not to mention, they have 2 picks in this year's deeply talented draft, the best european player in waiting, Gibson & Butler taking their next steps, and finally a great back up for Rose in DJ, that I am praying is resigned over Kirk. All that adds up to a fairly bright future imho. The Bulls are not done. They are just getting started.

The Bulls are over the cap unless they move Boozer. The Bulls are in cap hell if you are talking about bringing in a top tier talent, which is what this about. If you are talking about bringing in Trevor Ariza the Bulls are fine. If you want the Bulls to get Melo or Love then they are in cap hell.

It will be interesting. The way that I see it, the Bulls really are in the cat-bird seat when it comes to trades and are in decent cap position next year. What is truly amazing is that they are in this position after losing Rose and Deng this year. What a tribute to Thibs and the team. No question that the pick-up of Augustin was a great one. And Gibson and Noah are playing out of their minds. They truly are a bunch of warriors on this team.
