You don't have to keep the dog in the crate 24/7. Keep the dog in one room, in the crate. Take the dog out periodically. After the dog goes out leave it in that one room for an hour and then put it in the crate. If you are home 80% of the time this shouldn't be a problem. Slowly increase the time the dog is out of the crate. If the dog does its duty in the house put it back in the crate and leave it there until the next 'potty time' and slowly the dog will realize that going outside to potty will be associated with not being in the crate.
As for the snoring, invest in some earplugs or a noise machine in your room. Put the dogs as far from your bedroom as possible, in that crate.
