To all the people saying you can't grade this draft class yet, bullshit Pace gets a 11,621 out of 12,569 score from me.

A+ based solely on the first two picks. I don't know anything about the next five but that's not surprising as I'm not a huge college football nut. If Fields is everything we hope he can be nothing else will really matter in the end.
@Alpha Male LOL. You don’t like this draft or something?

I find the idea of grading a draft class before any of them have even played incredibly stupid.

I prefer to wait 2 to 3 years in

I couldn't have said it better myself. Never know what we have until about 3 years in.
I hope to see promise in year 1, then see solid play in year 2 and consistency and improvement in year 3, but we simply do not know. May as well say if the 2040 President will be good for the country.

I think I'd give it an overall grade of an A-

Round 1, pick 11 – Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State A+
Round 2, pick 39 – Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State A+
Round 5, pick 151 – Larry Borom, OT, Missouri - B+
Round 6, pick 217 – Khalil Herbert, RB, Virginia Tech B
Round 6, pick 221 – Dazz Newsome, WR, North Carolina B-
Round 6, pick 228 – Thomas Graham Jr., CB, Oregon A
Round 7, pick 250 (from SEA) – Khyiris Tonga, DT B-

The lack of no 3rd or 4th rd pick is my biggest knock on this draft. I think there were still some decent receiving options available. Nico Collins, Tylan Wallace, Jaleon Darden, Amon-Ra St Brown, Amari Rodgers and Josh Palmer were a few decent options. I think the talent at the position drastically dropped after that. Dazz Newsome was fair value, but I'm not sure if he will really push for a starting role like we need.

Going on the idea that it takes 3 years to properly grade a draft what we should be grading now is the 2018 Draft

1. Roquan Smith
2. James Daniels
2. Anthony Miller
4. Joel Ivienbuniwe
5. Bilal Nichols
6. Kyle Fits
7. Javon Wims

Personally, I'd give it a B-/C. I think we got a real player in Roquan Smith who basically makes this draft class IMO, and also some guys to fill out spots without totally sucking the hairy pair.

Last years draft class was awesome as well. 3 Potential high caliber starters. 2 contributors. That draft class was an A. 93/100

This year, the Bears potentially got their All-Pro QB, potentially 2 starting O-lineman, a steal in CB, a punt returner who might contribute on offense, a big body run stuffer backing up Goldman, and a RB who can return kicks. This is an A draft. 95/100

Are you fucking serious? I think this is a B/B+ draft. Smith is All-Pro. James Daniels is a really good starter if the coaches decide where to play him and Bilal Nichols is a really good DE.

Even though Miller is a disappointment, he is still an NFL player, and Wims was a 6th rounder and still in NFL.

Epic draft for the Bears. I haven’t taken a close look at what the teams in our conference did, but it’ll be interesting to see where we rank.

With all of draft fun, My IBS is out of control due to bourbon, beer, beefs, and some gyros. Wings too. My house smells like a dead mongoose.

We got our franchise QB (well hopefully) and an offensive tackle that should lock it down for the next decade plus (again, hopefully). Yes we still have a lot of holes, CB in particular, but we weren't going to cover everything in the draft. Having a 3rd round CB or 5th rounder CB wasn't going to shore up the position. If you trust in those guys to start, then you might as well trust last years 5th rounder Kindle Vildor to do the job.

Also, it's Fields' rookie season. How many teams win the Superbowl with a rookie QB? Winning is great and that's what we want, but I'll risk a few wins this season to give our quarterback a better future. He needs another tackle and another receiver won't hurt, but we hopefully have four of the five offensive line positions taken care of now.

Would have given an A+ if we somehow could have given up a future 2nd instead of a 1st or if we could have flipped a future 3rd instead current 3rd, but seeing both guys drop is already maxing out on luck.

In retrospect, that is fair. I'll go solid B on it. I may have gotten too discouraged by the Miller issues and not given enough credit in other areas.

Straight A GRADE EASILY. Possibly even slightly better than a flat A grade.

That talent in these drafts improves more and more frash out of college nowadays & that this draft was gifted and well justified to flaunt it too.

When you have 5 young QBs, yep, so many QBs went in round one that actually belonged in round one rather than being any reaches.

Once I saw Philly squander away their future for a teencer gimmick WR, I suddenly got a easy vibe that the Bears will get once of the touted 5 QBS.

Now I dont know about any of you on here, but as we all know its VERY rare for a GM to take even one player a dedicated fan wants.

Seeing Pace be aggressive to get Fields without getting himself hosed over was a feeling that I havent felt much of since McMahon, Rex/Orton & even Cutlers first 2 seasons in Chicago.

Pace took a a good player pick that is even more exciting as a talent.

That alone was enough for me to feel a complete opposite and have some joy that was warrented with Fields. I was raging over with the FO. before draft night

But NOPE pick 1 isnt the only topic here, its that the FO not only too the EXACT player in round 2 I wanted BADLEY with JENKINS who is A HUGE steal and Pace did what I hope and traded up for him also. I am used to the days of knowing that Aron Donald was THE BEST talent in his ckass and we should have traded up for him. Only to have that Point Dexter Emery sit on his thumbs rather that pay a pick for Donald because the difference was Kadeem Carey?‍♂️

In few words, Im not used to the Bears doing the right thing and building around it. I sure as shit wasnt expecting the FO to basically do what I was posting about in hopes that theyd trade up for Jenkins.

Anyone else here find that they were madder with the Bears front office than ever before the draft. But now are happier than expected and know that Pace did the right thing that this team hasn't done in years at QB & OT, but Pace GOT a freak talent QB and a balanced and versatile OT whi I have thougjt all along is the STEAL of the class.

I wish that GMs and owners would always see that when you do the right thing and also try to build around it and protect it, fans tend to be ALOT more understanding if a pick busts but was a pick that had to be made

Ive NEVER come out of a draft with THE TWO players I wanted to a Tee in round 1&2.

Jenkins will pick up RT at an eager pace that I know will lead to him showing why he should have been a round pick top 20.

Thats right fellas, when QB & OT are properly adressed with respectable blue chippers its what is meant beat having the cake and eating it to.

FIELDs A+

JENKINS A+ grade OT

Finally!

A!

I didn't even watch the draft live, I figured it would suck so I went out to drink. Just checked my phone hours into the draft and imagine my surprise that they traded up for Fields. The draft could've ended right there and I would've been a happy man.
