He's a wonderful Man.
It's a contractual agreement with the NHL. It's so that one TV Market doesn't overlap another TV Market. I'm pretty sure it's always been this way with the NHL.
Hawks have re-upped their contract with WGN through the 2015-16 season.....un-freaking-believable....UGH. Every season, now, it seems more and more games are on WGN and fewer on CSN. That leaves us outside the Chicago market screwed....

I thought the ratio of WGN to Comcast games hasn't gone up? I think there were 20 the first year (I could be wrong), and this year I don't think there was slated to be more than a quarter of the schedule or so on WGN. Is that changing with the new contract, as I didn't see any specific mention of it in the press release?
I know how it feels to live outside the WGN Chicago area going to school but really I'm not seeing the alternative. Its not really possible to have every game on comcast. And I only got one more season here at school so I'll suck it up then enjoy every game being on T.V.
The alternative would be not to black out the games on Center Ice.
I don't have any stats to back me up, but I seriously doubt there were 1/4 of the games on WGN the first year of that contract. Just seems like there have been more this year. But I can't check on the Hawks schedule, because once the game is played, the TV outlet is replaced by the score.
TCD, that's weird that you get WGN Chicago way out there....
